Describe your boss. Be it work or home!

Well, let's see, I am a sarcastic whiney know it all who despises people who disagree with me.

My boss is the senior systems admin and he's pretty much a knob.

I consider him very lucky to be where he is today as he would not qualify for any IT job in today's market.
He's not really quick thinking, and doesn't think outside the box. Likes to call tech support for every little problem he encounters, which is ok in some aspect, but as the senior systems admin, he should know half the answers to the questions he ask.
Doesn't know what's going on in todays IT industry, and hasn't the foggiest clue how to setup a simple domain or manage a network.

The guy is also super quite and shy, he doesn't really socialize with the others here. Feel sorry for him as he gets left out a lot. I try ask himi to come along with us for lunch or coffee but he always just goes... "no thanks"

As you can probably tell, I don't really think too highly of him. But I keep my feelings to myself as he is my boss and I like to keep my job.

Don't we think of all bosses like that?

My boss is the senior systems admin, I'm right below him.

Seriously, I consider him very lucky to be where he is today. He would not qualify for any IT job in today's market.

I share an office w/ this dude and sometimes I forget he's even here. He barely speaks and makes no noise.

I've had bosses who have earned my respect thru their knowledge and skills.
But I look at some of the other dept heads here and the general feeling applies. It's not what you know it's who you know, but sadly that doesn't really cut it in the IT dept.

We know that, he's asking about your boss...

<ducks>

My boss is totally owned by his wife. He's 72, refuses to upgrade to things like PCI for our sound cards (we're a radio station), and thinks that Classic Rock is too extreme to broadcast, and refuses to spend money on things. If it breaks, it breaks.

He's a good guy though, at least to me.

passive-aggressive. a real snake. pretends to be your "friend". "cover your ass and watch your back" is his group's motto.

Very cool guy. I'm new to the company and he's really been there to help me along the way. Very attentive to any questions I have and he has me doing meaningful work on important projects while some of the other new hires are being babied a bit in their first assignments.

Too bad he just got a promotion and is leaving at the end of the month...I have no idea how my new boss will be. 😕

Your boss.... not you...

I never see my boss... don't know if I even have one

Well, lets see. My *boss*. I have several. Teachers, school administrators, parents, my employer (myself - 17 years old and self employed.), and my girlfriend. The one that rules them all?

16 years old, C-boobies, kinda heavy, hates my vehicles and drives a 2003 model *OLD* VW beetle (Crossed the border to buy it), has to have a say in every one of my actions, holds herself over my head like some kind of prize to get me to do somthing disagreeable like fixing her mother's computer free of charge (Hey, at least she makes good on those promises), and I don't think she knows how to say 'no'.

Which of the above categories she fits into is up to you to figure out.

Look in my sig, click on "My home away from home", that is my only "Significant Other".

You need a good woman! I can't believe I am saying this, or a good man, if that is what you are into.

My views have changed on some issues. Critical thinking is not all that bad. 😀
