Inspired by this thread...........

Thanks to restaurant.com, I've been eating out a lot more... all those $25 gift certificates make it so much easier on the wallet. :) Here are some of my favorite spots and meals...

Linq Lounge Meal & Review:
Organic Butter Lettuce Salad - St. Agur blue cheese, spicy caramelized walnuts, roasted shallot-dijon vinaigrette
Miso Glazed Salmon - teppan zucchini & baby carrots, seaweed salad, yuzu kosho vinaigrette
Szechwan Peppercorn Crusted Ahi - five spice demi glace, garlic roasted shiitake mushrooms & sauteed pea tendrills

The water was $8.00 per bottle, but that was to be expected... ate by the fireplace, very cozy and romantic setting. The salmon was much tastier than the ahi, and I'd definitely go back there again. Total = $9.50+18.50+21.50+8 = $57.50 + $9.00 tip = $66.50 - $25.00 = $41.50 for two people (I actually paid $5.50 for the gift certificate, but... details, details)

The Linq Lounge... Five stars!

Ca' Del Sol Review:
Garlic butter tomato bread - very crispy, good with tomato, so-so
Spaghetti with herbs - simple and a very small portion, but very flavorful and just enough sauce
Spaghetti with clams - same as above, seafood nothing to write home about

Once again, $8.00 per bottle of water... another romantic setting, in cushy booths and with a fireplace in the middle. Nice paintings on the brick walls, everything presented with gusto. Total = $5+14+14+19.50+8+8 = $68.50 + $10.00 tip = $78.50 - $25.00 = $53.50 for three people ($4.01 paid for the gift certificate) So-so service, three stars.

Warehouse Restaurant Review:
Bread - crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside... served with two kinds of butter (one regular, one green... not sure what was in the green butter, but it tasted great)
Calamari - with lemon and a roasted pepper dip, very crispy, generous portion
Atlantic salmon - large portion served with garlic mashed potatos, veggies, lemon
Mixed cargo - four GIANT neatly split shrimp, petite filet mignon in a warm sauce, served with herb buttered rice, veggies, lemon

The food was incredible and the water was free (I don't like wine/beer/alcohol with dinner)... beautiful setting, by the window with a view of the marina (boats floating by)... low lighting, excellent decor, loud obnoxious group name-dropping like crazy next to us, but that wasn't the restaurant's fault. The best place yet, as the food was incredible and served quickly. Total = $9+19+27 = $55 + $9.00 tip = $64.00 - $25.00 = $39.00 for two people ($6 paid for the gift certificate) Five stars!!

Mmmm... now I'm hungry. :) I think I'll get a black angus for lunch...

Not a restaurant per se, but for my wedding dinner the resort we were staying at served us smoked salmon for an appetizer and grilled lobster for the main course.

I don't think I've ever had such a good meal in life. Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelish!

Some buffet at a nudity bar.

No cover charge to get in and a 2 drink minimum.

Actually this Korean resturant "Seoul House" near my house, $4.25 gets you this big plate of meat, 1 rib and some fried rice. Pretty good stuff. The owner knows me and my buddies, so sodas are always free for us.

LL Hawaiin BBQ. Very reasonable prices for a whole lot of food. -->BBQ

Yes... but recently, they've started the auctions at $5.00 instead of $1.00. Still a good deal, though!

Whenever i'm in Texas, i always seem to visit a Joe's Crab Shack... i just love crabs!

Like i said though, i don't know anything about deals.

Wow, $20 CDN is a great deal for a good steak... I may have to stop by the next time I'm in TO. :)

Oh, there use to be a little truck stop restaurant in Cambridge called Tulane (named after the street it's on) if those around here still remember (this was about 10 years ago)... they had like a huge plate of ribs for $10 or so. I don't know how they could sell it for so cheap, but it was damn good. Too bad the restaurant was replaced by a Wendy's.

hands down...... jack in the box had this thing a couple of years back called the big deal. for 99 cents you got a hamburger, a taco, and small fries.
99 cents for all this. only in america. i order ten.

the second place would have to be the Orleans in Las Vegas. from 11pm to 6am you get a 7oz steak or bone in ham, 2 eggs your choice of style, and hash browns for $1.95. thats amazing and its still going on.

Holy crap, i just read your other threads... that's some good deals. How the hell could they sell the gift certificates for so cheap? Is it a promotional offer?

I was wary at first... seemed like one of those "too good to be true" things. But the seller's ebay feedback is stellar and I've never had a problem with a restaurant accepting my gift certificates... I just put the certificate in with my credit card when the bill comes, and they return the receipt with the discount applied. Most of the restaurants they offer gift certificates for are VERY nice though, so be sure to dress up a little bit... I went to Linq in jeans and a casual top, and felt a bit conspicuous sitting by people in suits and designer dresses.

!!!! I've never seen a Jack's offer like that, but that's pretty crazy... how do they make a profit with that kind of a deal??

The next time I go to Vegas, I'm going to check out the Orleans... I've never been able to find any great Vegas deals, except for those 99-cent shrimp/lobster cocktails in Old Vegas... :p

See above post... :D Yeah, the deals are incredible... and everything's gone smoothly for me so far. I read through the sellers feedback, and restaurant.com's rating is (56886) with 98.6% positive feedback reviews. The few negative ones I read complained about the food, and one or two said that the restaurant refused to accept the coupon. But those are one or two out of thousands!

I've bought about 8 certificates from them so far... they never expire, although a select few have restrictions (i.e. valid Sun-Thurs only, or for a minimum of 4 people). I would never have checked out most of these restaurants otherwise... :)

I love the entertainment book. Yeah it costs $25 for the book, but you can easily save that in one meal, since they have a buy one get one free, and some of those meals cost over $25. Not to mention they have travel and hotel discounts as well.

I remember we ate at a place called Fez in Philly, there were 4 of us, and with all the coupons we had it cost somehting like $50 total. And it's a 5 course meal or something rediculous. I personally didn't like all the food, but for that price, eating half of it, who's going to complain?

Wow, what a deal! Where does one go to get an entertainment book? :)
