Derek, I can't believe you're allowing Nvidia to create anti-AMD posts here at AT

The FC2 glitch is obviously a real issue that needed to be addressed, but I find the way it has been brought to widespread attention quite hilarious. Nvidia somehow stumbles upon this bug themselves, and then for some reason they tell Rollo to post about it on various forums instead of informing the sites' editors directly. Just shows what his purpose for being here is and why Nvidia asked for him to be unbanned, for the few of us who hadn't figured it out long ago. Since the forum administation has repeatedly made it clear that this state of affairs is desirable, trying to reason with them is just a waste of time at this point.

As far as I see it, some people are trying to censor anything that is negative towards AMD.

Everyone knows that if rollo got banned the information would still find a way to make in on these forums. Would you rather know the source, or not?

Those are some sensitive individuals. Personally, what strangers say on the internet doesn't affect me much.

If it's interesting, I read it. If the information has any relevance, I check alternate sources.

I can pretty much say for certain though if Member X was exposed as a focus group member for Company Y I wouldn't go screaming into the night and never post here again.

Nvidia passed this info to *everyone* .. i am certain Derek saw it, so did KyleB and quite a few other tech sites. Some gave it low priority, some ignored it, a few published it. MOST of this kind of info starts on the forums .. to see what "reaction" they get

and they got a BIG reaction .. AMD just was embarrassed .. and i guess their uber-fan jumps to their defense

as to Rollo .. absolutely nothing is hidden .. when he posts something everyone knows where he is coming from and what his bias is
- sure he *omitted* a fact - conveniently - and it backfired

but it is not banable .. he is not paid to "shill" for Nvidia - he would and has done it "just anyway" as his zeal for Nvidia products and love for that company is unmatched
- who else goes out and spends $250 for a game copy and a card he will never play on

the bolded bit is false.

many editors of many sites were told about the bug. AMD and NVIDIA are good sources for finding bugs in the other's hardware.

we just didn't post about it because it's a beta driver and we really didn't care that much. AMD already knew about the issue and was working on it. there really wasn't anything else we needed to do except wait for a final driver.

some people do care though, and the issue was real, so it's not like talking about it should be off limits no matter who brings it up.
