I just got another confirmation why I hate Fox News. Depending on the story I will scan the 3 major cable news networks. CNN and MSNBC spend 95% of their Prince story time doing tributes. BTW - I think was appropriate. Fox News ran with the story that when Prince's plane made an emergency landing he was administered Narcan who's primary purpose is to block the effects of opioid overdose. TMZ broke the story but it will not be confirmed until the autopsy.
Fox unlike the other two spent 95% of their Prince time making the claim he suffered from an overdose. They spent little or no time of tributes. Question is why. Some of that can be explained by this interview of David Bowie calling out MTV in their own house about their lack of airtime for black artists. Listen to Mark Goodman's response. Pay close attention to what he said about Prince. (around the 1:30 sec mark)

Note the "mid America is scared of Prince" To MTV's credit they released this interview after Bowie died and admitted, "we were fucked up then and we know it." We've changed
I submit Fox News still has this problem. They know their audience in "mid-America" has little tolerance for a black man getting this much admiration. They would do the minimum required to cover a big news story. But Fox got a bonus there is a piece of unconfirmed bad news and they did nothing but push that bad news as if it were confirmed, which it is not.
Their peeps will not tolerate long Prince tributes, which he deserves. However they will tolerate a story being pushed that Prince is a drug addict.
