Depths of Peril

It's an indie RPG/Strategy game from an ex-Ritual designer. It looks like it may be worth a try. Has anyone played it? Is it any good?

I saw that article on /. yesterday so I downloaded the demo for my Mac. I just spent a couple hours playing it and it's pretty fun. There's an alliance aspect that's pretty original for an RPG and the graphics aren't that bad. Music is tolerable and it runs just fine on my 1st gen MacBook Pro. For $20 it's a good deal IMO.

I thought it was pretty mediocre in terms of presentation and character movement is really weird, the combat also seems very MMORPG-ish and I don't know why you called it a strategy game, I only played for about 20 minutes but it looked like a Diablo clone through and through.

Don't bother trying this game, there are definitely better alternatives in the genre, maybe if it was free but for $20 there are better stuff to be had.

I haven't had a chance to check out the demo yet, but I did notice it was advertised for sale this weekend at Frys. It's $5 more than online. I guess he did manage to get some retail distribution.
