Man I was sitting here talking to my g/f and felt/heard a loud pop. I wasn't sure what it was until I started winamp. My just a couple months old 12" 250 watt JBL subwoofer that is connected to my home entertainment/computer speaker setup was completely silent...not even the power light is on. Music sounds so bad...shipping for this 60lb beast back for warrenty service isnt going to be cheap....I now feel sad. Thank you all for letting me share my pain, although it still hurts inside.

Share your product failure stories if you want, it helps to get it off your chest ;)

:( maybe some prozac would help...it does wonders to me whenever windows crash. I now see a special shrink 2x a week - he's helping me cope. so I empathize with you, soybomb (interesting name btw) and try to stay strong.

Wait I'm starting to think all might not be lost, I unplugged it, let it set for 10 minutes and plugged it back in and it popped again...maybe it just need to cool off for like an hour....yeah I know it doesnt sound good but I'm still hoping, if that doesnt work I'd like to ask you all to light candles for the brave fallen acoustic warrior ;)

I just got my 10" 150W JBL up here. Of course, I may just let my brother keep it, it doesn't add all that much to the 15's in my mains.

In memory of your sub-woofer, I'll drop the crossover frequency on mine to 50 Hz for the next few days - sort of like flying the ol' flag at half-staff.

When you check into shipping rates, don't forget FedEx ground. I ran some calculations on their estimator for a 19" monitor and this method was about $10 less than UPS Ground.

Don't get a hernia putting the beast into the box for shipping. :D :D :D
