A memo detailing some of the CTTSO projects states, “The introduction of virtual currency will likely shape threat finance by increasing the opaqueness, transactional velocity, and overall efficiencies of terrorist attacks,” as reported by Bitcoin Magazine, according to IBTimes.
One of the greatest concerns reportedly rests with the anonymity afforded bitcoin transactions. The transactions are public, but the people involved in the operations are unnamed.

Looks like the fed fucks will get rid of a good thing.

Everybody is a terrorist according to the American Gov't. No surprises here really.

I think that we all knew that this was going to happen once people started writing Bitcoin obfuscation software to cover their tracks after the Silk Road raid.

All this negative attention sucks for those few people who are trying to make Bitcoin a legitimate payment alternative. Maybe they should switch to Dogecoin, which seems to be getting a lot more positive publicity lately :)

This is not unexpected. Bitcoin is now the primary currency used in ransomware. I do agree that just because something can be abused, it doesn't mean we get rid of it, but because the abuse is so easily perpitrated, I will never trust it.

It's quickly becoming the go-to currency within the dark net, and since it is in fact not legal tender, I think it was only a matter of time before the world's governments and banks came breathing fire.

Right or wrong - it's unprecedented, is really the only option our world has: tackle it, force it into submission, and then figure it out.
What comes from this is what people should ponder.
