Just a quick glance at the invite list and you know why Starcon is going downhill.

I'm debating making the ten hour drive just to tell Kevin J Anderson to quit writing.

lol

Which of his works has you this upset?

Note: Of his Dune work, I've only read Hunters of Dune and Sandworms of Dune, and none of the other Dune books he co-wrote with Brian Herbert. Outside of that, I DID read the entire Saga of Seven Suns series - not really sure if I consider that a waste of time, but it could have been better spent reading a more worthy series. It was entertaining when I had a ton of time to burn as a security guard (I got a TON of reading done at that job: the original+2 Dune series, Saga of Seven Suns series, The Dark Tower series, Under the Dome, World War Z, Anathem, Reamde, Cryptonomicon, 2001: A Space Odyssey, it's sequel 2010, and 2061 but I don't think I finished that one... plus others I'm sure).

I've seen some crappy line ups, but this one really blows. I don't recognize a lot of that list. It's like they pulled anyone that a bit part of some crappy scifi show. I mean they have this guy..

William Hart is an actor best known for his work on The Walking Dead, portraying Ankle Biter Walker

A star studded line up I'm sure.. and in the comic side the first name I see is Janelle Asselin, a blogger who's made a career out of telling comic fans the stuff they love is misogynistic and should be replaced by comics made by women cause they're awesome. With this line up I know I can't wait to go....

Isn't that par for the course?

I see quite a few big names on that list, at least, big names for comic and sci-fi fans.

The one on the far left looks like one of Roger the alien's less successful disguises.

That looks pretty cool. I need to go to some con in Chicago sometime just for fun. I am pretty sure I could get 4 or 5 people to go balls to the wall with me with no dissent. The Borg guys did a pretty realistic job with the makeup

There's a Wizard World Comic Con in Nashville the weekend of my birthday. I'm rather tempted to go, but man... hotel prices always make me shy away. It probably doesn't help that when I went to BlizzCon in 2008, I paid a fairly normal rate for a hotel... oddly enough. Anyway, the Nashville one has Lauren Cohan and Manu Bennet! There are a couple notable (new) BSG actors there too. Although, out of those, I'd prefer to see Edward James Olmos. :(
