A friends Son went to the Dentist today, had something like 4 Cavities. I remember when I got the drill for mine *ouch* so I thought I'd ask him how it went. He said "I didn't feel nothin" I thought he was playing tough guy. His mom tells me, the doctor didn't do any drilling, and didn't even have to give him a shot of Novacane. She said he was in there a very short time, and came out actually smiling.

I HATE Dentists, I suspect I have a Cavity of some sorts, but it's not causing me pain (yet) what is up with this "no drilling" Cavity sh!t? If this is real, I'd pay big bucks for it.

I remember seeing something about this on the news once. Some kind of new procedure. I wish I knew what it was.

EDIT: Maybe this procedure?

Yep, same here, my dentist used some kind of sandblaster thingy instead of a drill. I didn't want to deal with the novacaine. It hurts somewhat, but not like I was screaming in agony.

Some dentists use high pressure water to quickly erode the area around the cavity instead of drilling. Downside: you'll have very tiny bits of tooth in your mouth for a while.

You can sand blast the small ones away, no pain killer needed. Others are not so nice.

my dentist has that laser thing, it is nice

and the little sandblaster, water blaster thing

if you have a major cavity, you will still need drilling

yea they have lasers. and then they clean it with something..then use a filling that sticks without needing the wider at the bottom hole bit that requires drills.

HUH??

I wish my dentist would buy the lazer deal. I have several old fillings that will need to be redone soon.. I hate the drill...

DOnt need any drugs for sand blasting it out. And my new dentist uses the drill with no drugs. Just alot more careful I guess.
