7 Cavities+!!!!!!!!

People, please floss, and brush your teeth.

Make sure to not brush too hard, otherwise your gums will get messed up.
Just gentle little circles one or two teeth at a time.

FLOSS!

You do NOT want to have 7 cavities filled in one day. And I have a ROOT CANAL coming up. And a couple more cavities. All because I haven't visited the dentist for FOUR YEARS.

Oh the madness. The regret! Don't be like me you hear?!?!

AMEN TO That
I hear you loud and clear
I have fillings in all of my molars, and I had a root canal on one of em.
I is not fun stuff. Its because I have a problem with weak enamal, infact I'm not allowed to use Crest toothpaste any more because it has ingrediants that wear it down, plus I have to use mediacated toothpaste and flouride on top of brushing and flossing everyday. Sucks to be me.

Four years? You wimp! I haven't seen a dentist since... let's see... 1995? I think that's right, mid-autumn of 95. Five-and-a-half years! :)

I occasionally feel guilty about it, but I push it to the back of my mind and forget about it.

Says Palad of the green teeth. :D

Man, take care of your teeth. I have all of mine but one and that one had dogged me for most of my life.

I'm starting to hurt a bit as the anesthesia is wearing off. Is there something I can buy to help that?

they gave me some painkillers when I did mine, I have em in my fridge if you want some :)

go get some ibneuprofen...I can't spell it, but it'll take out pain and swelling in one hit
if that doesn't do it, get something with a smidge of Codin (once again, I can't spell that either)

You mean legally? I'm sure there's plenty of stuff on the street that would kill the pain for you. :)

I've always had luck with high doses of acetaminophen (Tylenol). Usually tho, I have some leftover Darvocet or Demerol or some other prescription drug from recent past that I use.

I guess I'll try Tylenol first. I don't have access to any old prescription painkillers or anything. How about that Ambisol thing? It claims that it'll heal the pain before I can even say Ambisol? Anyone try that before?

Never tried Anbesol or however it's spelled.

I'd recommend 800 milligrams of Motrin at a time. Motrin is typically sold in 200 milligram tablets; just take four at a time. Forget the directions on the box.

You got rooked. When I had my periodontal work (bone grafts) done last year I got Percocet each time. That's good stuff!

Tylenol might take the edge off, but it seems like Motrin/Advil/ibuprofen is more effective for that type of pain.

I would warn against taking more than 800mg of ibprofin in a short amount of time, its rough on the kidneys.

Ouch. Teeth are not the only part of brushing. It's important to get those gums too! My dentist says she's seen people loose perfectly good teeth due to poor gum care. No cavities, but the teeth just fall out when the gums deteriorate.

Gum disease is usually more of a problem than cavities in adulthood. Floss once a day, brush twice a day (learn how to brush the right way), and see a dentist every six months. If you haven't seen one in years, you'd better get going. Trust me, you want to keep your original teeth.

Recommended toothpaste: Colgate Total, with triclosan to kill those nasty mouth bacteria.

Recommended floss: Gore Glide, if only because it makes it less of a trial to use, meaning you're less likely to skip.

Recommended brush: Sonicare electric toothbrush, if you can afford it. Otherwise plain old toothbrush, but with proper technique (hint: when you brush, it shouldn't make noise).
