a cracked bead-board is a bit more difficult to properly repair vs. just a hole in drywall. I would reccomend just getting some drywal paste / spackel and then get a putty knife and just cover it up nicely and do a good job of sanding it down so the lines smooth out.

prime and then paint w/ leftover paint u used on rest of wall.

$EDIT$ probably like 5 bucks to fix but make sure you give yourself several hours to let the paint dry and do a quality job sanding it down. Drywall is generally just slapped on unlike precision support beams/bricklaying etc., the difference is in the finishing, which is how well you can slap on some goop and smooth it in.

Go to home depot and get plaster or drywall paste for a few bucks, sold where the spackle is sold. I can't tell how big it is, but if its not that big, spackle would probably do it too. Then lightly sand, then touchup with paint.

I don't think the beading is damaged; it looks as if the paint was chipped off exposing the metal. Just patch repair the wall as others have mentioned and touch up using matching emulsion.

Thanks, I'm a complete tard with handyman skills. So to recap, I go to HD and ask for some "spackle" stuff. Then I rub it on and get some sandpaper and sand it nicely and paint it.

The only prob is-wont the paint stand out (unless somehow i get a perfect color match)???

That wall looks kind of crappy anyway, I'd repaint. That's the only way you'll get a perfect match.

It doesn't look too big a gouge for spackle to handle. As for the paint, you can always bring in a small flake/chip of it and ask them to color match it. It might not be perfect, but it's not a huge area either.

Yes, its more than likely it will look a bit different, since your wall colour will have faded, become dirty, etc; i.e. it will not be the colour of the original freshly dried paint.

If necessary colour match the existing wall paint (DIY stores in England and presumably the US as well, can match paint if you provide a sample), and paint the entire affected wall surface back to the physical edges; i.e. internal and/or external wall corners, door openings, etc. and from floor to ceiling.

Over a large area, you shouldn't notice the difference between new and old paint colours, provided the colour match is good.

My college roommate dented my wall
Now the damn thing don't match at all
The rest of the house don't look like that
My college roommate kicked my furry cat

I said be careful don't dent my shit
He said it's cool I'm up on it
But he dented the wall and now I'm boned
My college roommate moves furniture while stoned

And THERE is your problem. It's the drugs. It's your fault.

If I were you, and I'm glad I'm not, print out the second picture go to Home Depot or Lowes, show the picture to someone and yell, "How fix?!".
