Dental Question, Cavity

I just had my first cavity filled. And I have a question

Is the tooth suppose to be sensitive afterwards. - I assume it is, but checking.
And if so, how long does it usually last?

anywhere from 2-7 days. If still having problem after that or it starts bleeding, go back to the Doc ASAP

I have to have my first and hopefully my last root-canal tomorrow.

Mine is still sensitive after a year or so (only when something cold hits it).
