I am filling out the dental insurance fromy my company and see that dental costs 54.00 bucks a month.

It covers 2 cleanings and an X-ray a year. I am now contemplating if it should get it or not.....

JUST cleanings and xrays?
Even if it covers half the cost of surgery and you know you need work then you should take the coverage.

Fillings and such are damn expensive. But $54 is high. Ours is only like $20/mo for husband and wife or $38/mo for a family.

If that is actually the only thing it will cover, then hell no, you shouldn't get it.
But if what you mean is that those are the only regular check-up type visits it covers, and it will also cover any work you need done (fillings, crowns, etc.), then it depends on what percentage of those things it covers.

I pay $42/ month for dental insurance for me, my wife, and our 4 kids.
It covers 100% of all preventative (cleanings, exams, x-rays, etc.) and 80% of all restorative work (filings, crowns, etc.)

Nah...that's too damned high. I pay like $7 a month with like a $2000 maximum each year. I used it recently and it was great. That seems too expensive.

i wish i was a military dependant.. except without the military...

i have it, since i'm sitll under 21 with my dad's insurance (i'm a leech). He pays ~40 for comprehensive for our family of 4. So 52 for what your getting seems like a lot... if you can get a better deal elsewhere i'd go with that :p (obviously)
