I lost a tooth (upper first molar split down the middle) and since the adjacent teeth were pristine, I didn't want to get a bridge.

It was a long and expensive process (about $2000 out of pocket) but it was definitely worth it.

I just wanted to pass that along in case anyone has the misfortune of losing a tooth.

they're great unless you're old/have bad bone. if so then there's a good chance it won't take, which is butt.

anyway glad your dental situation is doing well.

Or...oddly enough, born with one less tooth than you're supposed to have (in my unfortunate and (I think) rare case).

Yea, it's like $1400 for an implant then like $200+ for stage two, and I haven't even gotten the crown on yet (very soon). Just got implant stage 2 friday. It doesn't feel tho.

How's the crown going? Discoloring or anything? Does it feel fake?

I got one too, some genetic defect left me missing one adult bicuspid from birth (It just never came...) so when the baby tooth finally fell out, had to pay a couple $G's and get the titanium post implant, fake tooth and the whole bit. Pain in the arse

The dentist didn't do a particularly good job of matching the color (it a little whiter than the adjacent teeth) and there's only enamel on the outside surface. I'm not going to bother to have him fix it since the tooth isn't really visible.

It feels just about the same as a real tooth.
