I know what a dental bridge is used for, I know how it it anchored between teeth - but what is the bridge itself made of? Porcelain?

I believe the wings on a Maryland bridge are titanium or surgical steel. The teeth are probably porcelain.

Okay, good. My wife had her teeth XRay'd and could see it show up on the films. She thought it was made of silver/mercury amalgam but I was pretty sure that would be pointless.

The titanium post on my implant is visible on x-rays. I had my hygienist print me a copy becauase it's so cool. You can see the threads and everything. :D

she has no amalgam fillings?

you do know the mercury in amalgam is stable and of no threat, right?
