Denon's 100th anniversary

Im sure someone buys that however i thought they stopped making them because no one purchased them

Does anyone actually buy SACDs? I thought all audiophiles were vinyl purists these days.

I buy some occasionally. There's a huge market in Asia for SACDs (amusingly enough most of them are western music pieces--country, classical) but they are pretty much a fossil in the States. Everything I get I have to pay import prices, like $50/disc. It's a pain.

I really hope BD-Audio picks up at some point, but right now SACD is going pretty strong, there are thousands of albums available. It's DVD-A and HDCD that's pretty dead right now--and soon blu-spec CD I imagine.

Listening to music without the compression limits of redbook CDs is really nice.
