How's $595 for a nice Denon 7 x 110 watts?

6thave.com
Denon Spec Sheet
Denon Owners Manual

$.06 shipping too.... nice receiver for the price
and yes 6thave is an authorized dealer, so no warranty worries. If you know someone that works at HiFi Buys (tweeter.com) they might match it. A friend did for me, though the price is about $20 more than their cost.... cant wait til it comes in

not listed in the spec's but it has 50MHz component bandwidth (27MHz minimum for HDTV @ 1080i)

The AVR-1082 provides two power amps for the Surround Back channels for a total of 7 fully-discrete amps of equal power. This powerful configuration lets you take maximum advantage of the dynamic performance that today's DTS-ES, Dolby Digital EX, DVD-Audio, and SACD program sources offer. The Dolby Pro Logic II features lets you hear 2-channel stereo sources in realistic 5.1-channel surround sound. The AVR-1082 includes Multi Zone Output and Power Amp Assign functions that let you output different sources to more than one room.

I bolded most of the differences down below. Here is a summary

3803 adds over 3802:
Dolby Digital EX
better DSP
Burr-Brown DAC's
Pure Audio direct mode
full backlighting remote
100MHz component video instead of 50 MHz
Video conversion to s-video or composite
better crossover

note: I read that the 3802 came with a 2 year warranty and the 1082 comes with only a 1 year warranty. 6thave states a 2 year warranty, but they also state DD EX, which is not correct.

Not sure where you heard that about the warranty, but I dont think it's correct. As for the EX... you might have a point in the name, but "including Matrix 6.1 decoding ". This is EX only DD EX hadnt come out yet, it was called THX EX to start with...... and THX charges a fee to use their name. Besides DTS ES uses discrete signals where EX uses a solution not unlike Dolby Surround. I'd rather use ES if it's available.
