hey i picked up a dennon 2809 a definitive tech mythos ssa-50 and a def. tech pro sub 1000

i hooked everything up and it is all working fine.....

but is there any type of setup i need to do for the ssa-50 i mean its a soundbar....it sounds great but it doesnt sound surround sound at all....im not expecting real 5.1 but this is the best solution for virtual surround and im not gettin any effect....

plus this dennon reciever is real overwelming and confusing the remote is useless and the manual is even more useless.....

anybody can help me with this setup....also the sub when it powers down doesnt always power back up when i turn the sound up again unless i unplug and plug it back in

How did you determine that this was the best one for virtual surround? Did you try it in store or something and you're not getting the same effects?

Are you playing back something that actually has surround information (vs. stereo music or something)?

Did you look at our comments and recommendations from the other thread you made earlier?

For the subwoofer, do you have it on auto power? It might not be detecting the signal from your receiver well enough to "wake up". Some solutions might be to have it set to always on (if that's an option) or raising the subwoofer level on the receiver (and lowering the setting on the sub's gain to compensate).
