Gawd, it's about time. One of my favorite A.C. Clarke novels ever...long overdue to be made into a GOOD movie.

Morgan Freeman apparently has been trying to get this book on the big screen since forever, at some point he had David Fincher as director but he was never satisfied with the script so it never got off the ground. Freeman will still be a producer for this movie.

'Rendezvous With Rama'

Those aren't too bad. I get like six of them for a buck. They soften up pretty well with some water and a microwave, mostly noodles, with a bit of salty flavored seasoning.

Cue big open black space. Overly dramatic music. Half an hour of this. The you see the oil drum come into view, and then another half an hour of nothing happening.

Yes, I can see how this could be made into a good movie. But please do not continue on producing films for its sequels. Do Childhood's End instead.

I would rather see Childhood's End made instead. "Rama" leaves a lot of sequel fodder available, which is no doubt is a criterion for getting a project approved now.

IIRC, there were three Rama novels that followed the first one...although they were "co-written" with Gentry Lee. (allegedly, AC Clarke said Lee actually wrote them, he merely gave him ideas along the way)
