For the first time in 12 years, the Dems will control the Pennsylvania house!
Chester County Commissioners declared Democrat Barbara McIlvaine Smith the winner in the 156th District by a 23-vote margin, 11,614 to 11,591. Republican Shannon Royer had been listed as leading Smith by 19 votes unofficially after the election, where officials said poll workers had mistakenly left about 250 absentee ballots uncounted.
In the only other as yet undecided race, in the 157th District, Republican Duane Milne, a West Chester University professor, defeated Democrat Anne R. Crowley 13,556 to 13,412.
If this all stands, it gives the Dems a 102-101 edge in the Pa. house.
I'm no Dem, I'm a registered Independent, but CHANGE is good, and sometimes necessary. Throw the bums out!!
All this and no Santorum means to me that the proud and generally independent state of Penn's Green Forests (we went for Teddy Roosevelt and the Bull Moose Party for Prez in 1916) is finally taking it's first hesitant steps into the 21st Century! :laugh:
