To the GOP...

Just LoL @ Democrats. Big losses and possible exodus of Dem senators in red states pending...

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...revent-their-own-from-defecting-to-trump.html

"They recently launched a “full court press” to retain Sens. Joe Manchin, of West Virginia, and Heidi Heitkamp, of North Dakota, after each met with Republican President-elect Donald Trump, one senior Senate Democrat told Fox News.
...
In the longer-term, Senate Republicans would have a solid chance of winning Heitkamp’s seat in a special election and adding to their 52-48 member majority"

These are the two reddest Dems, and not really any indicator of a wholesale party breakdown or anything, just as it will mean nothing if/when McCain ends up voting against Repub consensus.

Oh but it does, they leave for the same reasons McCain would leave. Establishment types have no real loyalty, they blow with the wind, especially senators. Notice I say Establishment, not Dem or Rep.

And which way is the wind blowing in most states right now?

The wind is starting to blow in the direction of 'wtf have we elected' and will continue to blow this way for the next bunch of years[/QUOTE]

The point is that neither of those two Dems are regular, establishment Dems. Both of them have A ratings from the NRA iirc, they break rank to vote with Repubs more than other Dem senators (to represent their local constituencies), so that they will likely continue to vote with Repubs says nothing. Unless you're using Show me a story where Diane Feinstein or Elizabeth Warren defect, and that will be notable.

Maybe you define 'establishment' differently from me.

Trump: "Soon the Democrats will be crushed and Joe Manchin will be one of us."
