Ah yes, let's stir the pot a little.

Let me get this straight...

First, the Dems just suffered a massive defeat in November.

Second, they KNOW that most Americans (those that have work) are working themselves to death not only at work but at home with gift shopping, holiday preparations, etc. So they are fully aware that America is either burned out on politics and bad news in general or is too busy to notice what their politicians are up to.

So taking all of this into account...the Senate wants to ram through the OMNIBUS spending bill that no one has read and costs some $500 mill per page??? On the weekend before Christmas weekend? Full of goodies like DADT and DREAM?????

This power-hungry arrogance is breath taking!

Meanwhile, we hear nothing from their impotent, quiet leader. Obama who?

So? Congress hasn't recessed yet and they are going about legislative business just like they would any other time during a legislative session. Outrage not found.

So you agree with kicking out gays and lesbians who've risked their lives to protect your freedom?

Also, most of us are working next week, why shouldn't congress? Can you show that not getting a week off at xmas is an evil Dem innovation not business as usual?

And they just had their omnibus spending nightmare stopped by Mitch McConnell. Awesome!

Dems had to pass the republican economy saving tax plan, defeat
Can't pass pork filled omnibus, defeat
November? History making rejection of democrats/obama/agenda
Republicans take house in January and get to take credit for economy turning around thanks to republican tax plan, FATALITY!

Let me see, the dems are the arrogant ones???????????????????????????

Our OP must have a very short memory, after the election of 11/2008, the dems had a basic even bigger landslide, held both houses of congress and the Presidency, it sure did not stop the GOP from arrogantly filibustering everything.

And now our OP and his out of touch with reality mind seems to think that the GOP should be the post 2010 deciders when they hold only the house, while the dems hold the Senate and the Presidency.

Of course there is that other little problem our OP has, if the GOP end up making things worse post 2010, they won't control anything post 11/2012. And talking a good line while making everything worse is a special talent of the GOP lately.

The dems are arrogant in the fact that they caved in to the GOP on tax cuts for the rich even though WE THE PEOPLE don't want tax cuts for the rich.

Will they take credit for the deficit too?

Who's this "WE THE PEOPLE" you speak of? I want tax cuts for everyone. I don't care how much they make. Unlike you, I am not jealous or envious of other's success.

And who had a ton of pork in the bill? Ding Ding Ding... Mitch McConnell!

Those earmarks were before the election. It was a dirty trick to try and "catch" Republicans, but they stayed true to their word and integrity and stopped it in it's current form that included all the pork.

WE THE PEOPLE would be the overwhelming majority of Americans who are against tax cuts for the rich. Not only that, but for the minority who are the plutocrats and plutocratic wannabes who are in favor of tax cuts for the rich, more than half of them believe those tax cuts should only be TEMPORARY.

WE THE PEOPLE are against the growing wealth inequality and attempts to establish a permanent generational aristocracy.

So being a fiscal conservative just started after Nov 2?

I couldn't care less about gay in the military.

The fact of the matter is the people have been screaming for an improved economy, jobs, and budget control.

What do the Democrats do?
Spend 2 years doing stuff that no one asked for.

Now, at the last minute when something needs to get done, it is an emergency so they think they can ram their shit through under this idea that it has to get done.

Its classic politics, wait until the last minute and present it as an emergency. Good thing the GOP is calling their bluff.

I don't remember what the exact number is as I don't have time to search for it, but its something like the people who own 80 percent of the wealth only pay 65 percent of the taxes where the other 20 percent of wealth pays 35 percent of the taxes.

If by "stuff that no one asked for" you mean ending a recession and restarting economic growth less than 2 years after a Republican caused largest economic collapse in several generations, then yes I agree.

Maybe its time to realize we the people don't control our legislators. Its special interests who buy and sell our legislators, and its simple to understand why.

The legislators that don't play ball with special interests simple don't get the funding from we the people needed to fund their re-election campaigns. And because the better funded candidate always tend to win the election, its the lobbyist who get our legislator's ear's.

And the fix of driving money out of politics is now more than just a campaign finance reform legislation, because its now become a constitutional issue because SCOTUS has somehow decided Money is free speech.

So they were for pork before they were against it?
