why not create an official thread for xbox 360 demos. you can keep adding to that.

I kind of prefer a new thread because instead of having to dig down through a long thread to check each time, but whatever queasy wants to do!

I was really hoping to like Spider-Man: Friend or Foe. I read some negative criticism before I downloaded it so maybe I was just expecting it to be bad. I only got to play the first part of the demo so hopefully my first impressions will be proven wrong.

I don't care at all about the simplified graphics, but the swinging mechanic seems horrible. So far it seems that you can only shoot one webline at a time and you HAVE to hit the ground before you can shoot another one. So of course I swing slightly off the edge and fall to my "death". You seem to be immediately resurrected on top of the roof without much penalty, but it feels like such BS for a Spidey game. Hopefully I'm wrong and there are more intricate controls that I haven't learned, yet.

After the bad reviews for Spider-Man 3 this year I was hoping that at least one good game would come from the license. Who knows when the next one will be?

I agree with you. I thought the demo was pretty fun, but the way he "auto swings" is pretty lame. I found myself dying quite a few times falling off the buildings.

It's not like we're inundated with threads here, and only one such thread would be active at any given time anyway. Better to have separate threads.

Just remember, Spiderman: FOF is targeted towards young kids so expect simple gameplay and simple controls.

Hey, I'm a big kid! I almost started posting a list of recent kid games I've played in an effort to show that I'm within their target demographic, but I'm not that desperate to prove my point. :p

Simple gameplay and controls I can deal with. What I observed in my briefer-than-full demo experience seemed to be bad controls/game mechanics.

Spider-Man falling off a roof to his "death" without giving the player the option to shoot another webline? I don't think a young'un would enjoy that any more than I did. I noticed that when I swung and fell slightly off the side that it would automatically web the corner of the roof and flip me back on. In my opinion it would have been better if they did that when you fell off the roof anywhere.

Like I said, I really hope that when I get to play the whole demo without an interruption that I find that I completely missed something.
