So I came across this list on Wikipedia of demonyms for U.S. states. Demonyms are the words used to describe the people of a particular geography, IE New Yorkers are from New York, Georgians are from Georgia. There are some amusing unofficial demonyms on here though. I was not aware that Rhode Islanders are called Swamp Yankees, or that people from Georgia are Goober Grabbers.

Never heard of anyone from Maine being called a Fox, but Mainiac is certainly popular. DownEasters are from Washington and Aroostock counties though, more of a regional name.

I see they included Masshole. Nice.

The list does seem pretty incomplete, here also.

Masshole always seemed pretty appropriate to me, even though some of my best friends in the past have been from there.

;)
