Question, is this a uniquely Democrat trait?
Do Republicans advocate no taxes? Nonsense, they want taxes - just a lower amount. The underlying tenant is still the same as the Democrats, that we owe society to pay back into it. They only argue over the extent.
Not really. Republicans frame it as "letting people keep more of their money".
Democrats side is always "tax cuts are spending", as if it's their money to begin with. Democrats truly believe you belong to the government, and that you didn't build that. It is only by the grace of government, they "allow" you to keep your money and succeed.
The point is this is a core principle of democrats and liberals for it is this belief that formulates their every approach to government. They're not even hiding it anymore and are saying it out in the open.
