not looking to start a political debate or anything. i'm just trying to get a general idea of where everyone stands.

personally, i think Howard Dean is the best candidate.
 
Dean does want to raise social security retirement age to 70. Hopefully he can make that issue, because it is a good idea.
 
Doesn't matter who you prefer, the one with the most campaign earning potential and best hair will win the ticket.

Heck, I'd love to see Dean try to run against Bush. Can anyone say Landslide? 😀 (albeit not as big as it'd be if Sharpton got the nomination)

I'm a Republican and would love to see Dean on the Democratic ticket.....He would do about as well as Mondale did vs. Reagan.

This is true. What's not known by many people is that the tradition of a retirement age of 65 was started with Social Security during the New Deal. The life expectancy during the New Deal era? 65.

For these pragmatic solutions and others, my vote is for dean.
