Goddamn Dems. :(

If that's a threat of some sort, then you may wish to edit that...

Based on what I've read of your posts, your a gun grabbing lazy Socialist who wants to raise taxes and believes in welath redistibution because your unwilling to put in an honest days work.
Am I wrong on any of that?

Negative. I'm a gun-owning veteran (actually a disabled vet and a vet of a foreign war) and registered Democrat who works hard for a living but concedes that tax increases are needed as a result of President Bush's unprecedented deficit spending and irresponsible tax cuts during wartime. Interestingly, conservative Republican John McCain agrees with me on all of the above, save the Democrat part (though I don't honestly know whether he's a gun owner).

Ah, so its ok for you to make wild ass assumptions, but not me??

I'm not sure mine are so wild. You are an admitted video game aficionado who loves guns and supports the war, but won't join the service, right? What part of what I said is wrong? FWIW I am a video game aficionado who likes guns and doesn't support the war, but who voluntarily served in it. We each have our strengths, I guess.

I was unaware it was a requirement in this country to serve?
I was also unaware that working for the DOJ, FBI, FAA, DHS, NASA and other .gov agencies classified someone as not "serving" their county.

Please, continue with the wild ass assumptions. Whats next?

I was actually going to post to retract my initial sh!t-stirring, which I admit was gratuitous, but as your party's hero once said, there you go again. "Serving" by sitting in a cubicle in the Midwest is not the same thing as putting on a gun and entering a combat zone. I don't find this discussion interesting, and I admit I started it, but to answer your question, no, I don't think you're serving in the same way a military member is. Try telling a Marine that you are "serving" by playing GRAW and see what his reaction is.

I believe this thread is steering off topic, so I will remind people what it is really about.

The nazis got pwned in the house. The MAJORITY has spoken.

I'm not pretending to say I've served my country. But then again, I wouldnt say that supporting the alphabet soup in some capacity means I've turned my back on my country either.

If you go look, your the one who started with the wild ass assumptions and veiled personal attacks on me.

I have already conceded my initial post was gratuitous, but it sounds like you've admitted every aspect of my "wild ass assumptions." At the end of the day I'm pissed at the chickenhawks, because I think they've been instrumental in getting our country into this mess, hence my initial post. That is really no excuse for my snipe, however, regardless of whether you consider yourself a chickenhawk.

It will be very interesting to see what happens in the next 2 years. The Dems dont have full control so they cant go hog wild with stupid stuff. They have to play it smart or risk the 08 race. If they play their cards right and dont go hard left right from the get go, they may be able to bring a storm of trouble to the R's come 08.

All I care about is that is now going to be some form of checks and balance in our top govermental branchs.... I am just assuming that is what our nation was founded on... right?

The late clinton years were the GOP held the senate and house were some of the most progressive years I have witnessed in any govt.

I am just glad that one team will now be "challenged" instead of having any idea that comes across their minds get passed into law.
