Republicans run on the principle that government doesn't work, then get elected and prove it.

Sadly that's a feature of the agenda and it actually goes back to colonial days..

That's the way to control populations and make them accept this is as good as it gets

Watch this quote by Pierce Brosnan in this colonial movie:

And if you ever bring attention to it.. you're too "woke"!

And if the people don't laugh at you anymore and want actual change.. you're a terrorist like Gandhi or George Washington!

Real change will only come from leaving the empire.. as it did for America and India. So the real answer is.. you have to break away from the American Empire now!

I'm watching Biden shuffle up to the podium, he appears so frail, has trouble concentrating, trouble speaking. If he runs again in 2024 will the public accept a president using a walker? A cane might be ok, but a walker.
I just don't know. I think it would be best for democrats to start grooming someone else, others, or at least think about it. But I think a lot of his unfavorable ratings are from his age, and Biden doesn't wear his age well. I've seen people in their 90's more alert and energetic then Joe Biden, but they aren't politicians.
I don't know about Biden. He makes me nervous. i'm afraid he's going to fall, or fall asleep. These old politicians simple must go, give up the political ghost. Biden, Pelosi, Grassley, McConnell, none of them should be there. It makes them look bad, makes us look bad and it makes politica look bad. And most of Americas problems is they we have too many old people who have been there for 40-50 years. Enough!

He either needs to announce he will not be running for president again, or let the primaries take him out!
I've defended him enough here. His response to the Roe vs Wade decision after knowing what it would be for 6 months in indefensible. I'm done.

I'm done with Biden too. I think he is the only one that could have won in 2020 but he has been too weak in calling out Republicans. He needs to be out there exposing these people. Not being prepared for Roe v Wade just shows how unprepared and/or naive they actually are in there. They aren't prepared to fight the evil that is the GOP.

If he announced he wasn't running, welcome to 2 years of lame duck.

2 other points: the polling on top reasons for him not to run boil down to vibes, and not policy disagreements, and if I recall, other democratic presidents faced similar headwinds at the 2 year mark (Clinton and Obama), but then went on to win reelection.

After working in West VA for a while, I agree with you 100%. Didn't take me long to discover those people don't want my black ass in their state.

You VOLUNTARILY moved to West Va?

ALL the stupid redneck-hillbillies and none of the oil + traitor Joe Manchin.

What's not to like ?!?

I'm done with Biden too.

100% agreed.... Joe Biden is a sad, delusional OLD joke. :(

I'm not the biggest fan of Gavin Newsom for example but we need somebody to step up in 2024 whose balls haven't shriveled away to nothing from old age.

Yup. Best case scenario Dems retain congress and actually picks up 2 seats to be able to get rid of the filibuster and able to pass abortion and voting rights. Pass BBB, extra Medicare and student loan forgiveness. If all this can be done by summer of 2023, Biden can boldly state how successful his term has been and can officially declare he won’t seek a second term

I think I know the solution of who would be the best Democrat presidential candidate in 2024. 1656552331658.png

You do realize that is the best option, if you want a president that sides with most Democrats in Congress and not loose the votes from some anti-feminist. Otherwise AOC would have been a good option.

If you want a Democrat that does have the highest chance of getting moderate voters and flipping conservative voters, you at that point are asking for someone that does not support the views of half the Democrat Congress people. The person I am reffering to is Manchin. Manchin however has the lowest chance of winning the primary.

There is another option... it involves Biden or basically any Democrat to run in 2024, but for Liz Chenney to run as a third party candidate. At that point... you would be expecting to see something like the 1996 election happening with a strong 3 way race.

I Doubt she’s interested but I’d love to see Katie Porter in the Dem primaries. She can go head to head with republicans and make them look stupid.

I think Newsome has too much baggage with his prior recall to win, plus I think the simple fact he is from CA will turn off a lot of swing voters in the Midwest, as silly as that may seem.

But he would at least not be afraid to troll back at the GOP, which is what our politics have regressed to anyway.

Mayor Pete has the youth, wit and intelligence to be a capable candidate but I just don't think America is ready for that right now...

the time when america will be ready is never. look what happened when we elected our first black president. simply put - it MUST happen. there is no waiting for "ready". does Pete make an excellent candidate? Yes? Get him to lead. As you said, he's young, witty, intelligent, and has charisma. He's served in the military, unlike so many past presidents. He's from Small Town America, so he knows what things are like for people in the midwest compared to "coastal elites". Hell, he's not just an excellent candidate, I'd say he's damn near ideal. You want someone to energize people? He's the guy.

He's my choice also, but I keep saying he just has not resonated with the African American voters yet, and that was a big weakness in the primaries of 2020.

Manchin wouldn't get my vote for men's-room attendant.

And he's at it again.
Manchin torpedoes Democrats' hopes for passing sweeping climate action and tax hikes
(CNN)Sen. Joe Manchin on Thursday dealt a devastating blow to Democrats' hopes for sweeping legislative action this year, telling Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and his staff "unequivocally" that he won't support the climate or tax provisions of a Democratic economic package, two sources familiar with the talks tell CNN.

Trump must have gotten to him.
But whatever, Manchin is an embarrassment to everyone not only democrats and Biden, but to everyone.
He waves his little gun around in campaign ads and calls himself a democrat. He's no democrat. And obviously, he doesn't care what his party thinks of him as like a monkey Manchin flings kaka in the presidents face.
People need to get out and vote if for no other reason to make Manchin and his monkey poop tossing tactics moot.

He was for the taxes on the wealthy before he was against them.

He is corrupt

I simply don't think Manchin is actually capable of culminating these negotiations, even though there are things he actually does want out of them. He tells the Dem leadership on thing, hill reporters another, local media yet something else. His positions are often entire contradictory day to day. The package looks like it does because this is the way he wanted it. He's yet again backpedaling that there might be a deal this morning after taking a lot of blame. It is understandable why the Dem leadership is gun shy and the House dems feel vindicated when they said that he could not be relied upon.

Even the more reserved seasoned hill econ reporters have become so exasperated every time he opens his mouth that they go:

Of course he's corrupt but I don't think that's actually the problem here. He's not able to make some sort of decision and stick with it for more than a few week seems to be the issue. He could probably gain tremendously personally from the bill and executive actions squeezed out of the WH but can't get the job done.

I'm not done with Joe Biden. Because I knew he was going to be the one to stop Trump's ascent to Fuehrer. And I'm grateful he and the millions who voted for him did just that.

Yes, he's gotten older. Yes, he's stumbling more over his words. And Biden can't run up aircraft stairs anymore. But when most of us cast our ballots for him two years ago, we all knew Joe was temporary.

Why are we acting all disillusioned and surprised that he appears to be deteriorating before our eyes?

Rather than attack Joe Biden, which is easy to do, why don't we concentrate on taking down or making our GOP opponents appear as unappetizing as they actually are?

He is the definition of a swamp creature. You know he has a wonderful job waiting for him when he gets out of office at any of the biggest lobbying firms in DC. He doesn't even have to move off his yacht.

The only way Democrats other than Beto and Manchin that can get the voters of the states of Michigan and Georgia to vote blue... is if we have a
