Democrats or Republicans

Moderate/Libertarian

I don't really identify with organizations. I'm socially liberal, and economically conservative.

Does anyone in here like MIchael Moore? I think he is way left almost off the charts left, but he has some pretty interesting ideas and books and movies!

I don't like Moore at all. He makes a living off complaining about everything, yet has no ideas on how to make changes without crippling civil liberties and people's livelihood.

Off the charts left would be communist...he's more like a fanatical moderate lefty. He's not an extremist when it comes to his political views, but he's fanatical about those views.

For myself, I'm really a social libertarian and an economic moderate. So "my" political party has yet to pop up in the US. Democrats come kind of close in terms of economic ideas, but their social policies are still a little too authoritarian for me. Libertarians come closer on social issues, but they are way out in left (or would that be right?) field on their economic stance.

I pretty much just have to vote for individual candidate that comes closest, since I don't reliably agree with any party. Although given their latest stance on economic and social issues, I think I can safely say I reliably DISagree with the Republican party. Other than that, I try to look beyond the party an individual is part of. Hell, I'll vote Green if the candidate seems like a good guy.

He also tends to miss the better points and focus on the trivial. Fahrenheit 9/11 had some ok points in it, but too much of it was pointless focusing on things most people knew already and political grandstanding (the "sign up Congressmens' kids" thing, for example). If he really stuck to the important points and tried to come off as a little less like a fat, unshaven annoying guy, I think he'd be a lot better.

He thinks everyone is stupid and he thinks he's fighting for the masses who don't know what's best for them. He divides the nation because all he does is push people away from the current establishment, yet provides nothing for solutions or how to make things better.

When he talks to the ceo of nike and asks him why he produces things overseas while has 'profits' just makes me cringe...i mean, profits aren't an endless supply of money to invest in less profitable ventures. Not to mention profits are taxed and help pay for all the programs Moore advocates. Moore embodies all that is wrong with economics and shouldn't be trusted to advise people on such matters.

He's an interesting character, if he wasn't such a baby about things he could have a lot more respect.

F 9/11 would have been an excellent documentary, if he didn't cry about thing so much.

Same. Voted Libertarian in the last election. I'm suprised at how many responses are not just Democrat/Republican lol.
