This thread should go well.:p

I think both parties have things they supported in the past that they are embarrassed about. The parties as a whole don't take on the persona of one individual like say Byrd. He's a waste of flesh...but that doesn't mean all old ass democrats are a waste of flesh....oh wait;) J/K

Anyway - have fun with the ensuing flame-fest.

There are several people on this board who don't like going back more than 10 years of history, why would they care about the stances of parties over a century ago? Anyways, yes, both parties have had and still do have members that they would rather flush down the toilet. Hey, it happens.

It is true that the post civil war US southern stetes were prodominantly Democratic.
Truman's, JFK's, and LBJ's support for Civil Rights and desegregation caused the split of the Democratic Party. At first Southern Democrats called themselves "Dixie-Crates" and voted Republican on social issues, meaning Civil Rights legislation. Later these Dixie-Crates joined the Republican party. Have you noticed how most of the South is now Republican?

Today's Democratic party is really the party of JFK, LBJ, and Bill Clinton not the KKK

Well, they are a lot closer to JFK and LBJ than they are to the politics of the post civil war southern Democrats.

Perhaps you should read up on FDR, Truman, JFK, and LBJ.....

Yes, as usual.:)
Some are because they have basically declared political war on Bush.
Only if they truly are demons;)

Oh, and you can pinch yourself if you like it that much.:Q:p

eriqesque thinks he's cute and also thinks the Demoncrats burn crosses. I guess those 90% of blacks who unwittingly vote Demoncrat just prove the old stereotypes.

What about the 2000 election and the false criminalization of African Americans in Florida because their names looked or sounded the same of convicted felons. All simply because they weren't likely going to be voting for Bush. Wow Shock and Awe.
