A well thought out article about the cost of turning Iraq into a stable area after we kick it's ass.

I'm for Disarming Hussien with force if we need too, I'm just hesitent to go it alone for this reason.

I remember being told of the costs and hundreds of thousands dead soldiers that were promised during the Gulf War. I'm not discounting what was in the article...but, going off of past history, I don't think things are going to reach the 'worst-case scenario' when the cruise missles start flying.

Where's the option for "hell no." Gephardt didn't lead any kind of opposition the 2 years when minority leader of the house. He has no chance of getting the nomination (he is consistently in the back of the pack in NH and Iowa polls).
The dem nominee will most likely be Kerry, with Dean, Graham, Edwards having a shot.....

Nicely put. He has no leadership skill at all. Not to mention the fact that Represenatives are NEVER elected President. They are almost always, Governors, V.P.s or Senators.

Yeah it's better not to think about things like as it's best to believe that everything will be peachy keen in the end

Who said we would lose hundreds of thousands of soldiers before the gulf war and what were they smoking?

The people who were protesting the Gulf War, analysts, and some news networks. Words such as "Another Vietnam" and "quagmire" were thrown around alot.

hmmmm, interesting, one of those facts that are usually ignored. I wonder if it's because Reps are much more in the spotlight and have their dirty laundry aired out a lot more often than others.

I think only about 5-6 Presidents have not had one of those three jobs before becoming President, and a few of those were high profile Generals. I think that Reps just aren't prestigious enough since there are almost 500 of them. Plus, they are elected from small geographic areas, and I think a political party would hesitate to put forward someone who is untested in broader elections.

This article isn't written by any of those types. I guess for you and those like you it's better not to think about the consequneces as it would probably shatter your misconception that everything is fine and dandy. Frankly that makes you as ignorant as those Anti War Protestors who you constantly rail about becuase they are simple minded enough to think that this war is for Oil and Oil alone.

He lost my attention after mentioning oil at $125 a barrel. When oil hits $50/barrel other energy options become very economicaly viable.
