OP, has this thread still not provided a big enough hint that you shouldn't create new threads?
Well atleast its not devolved into the fentanyl thread but that might be a step too far for this forum!

Nah, just senseless or derpy master of the obvious threads. Those can stay in OT.OP, has this thread still not provided a big enough hint that you shouldn't create new threads?
How a political thread discussion devolves to a bourbon discussion.

Yep, by being senseless. A mere comment that could have been added to any another thread in this forum.
I agree that Blantons is over everything… over hyped & overpriced but not crappy. It’s drinkable.Eagle Rare snd Wellers are definite buy if you find them at shelf price.
I’m a single malt fan also. McCallan’s was my late father’s go to & I followed his lead there. I’ll have one in his honor once a year to celebrate his birthday.I like bourbon but honestly never had better than Knob Creek or Maker's Mark. I liked those, and they were good neat or with coke or just a few cubes. Think I had Eagle Rare once or twice.
I was a single malt scotch drinker, ranging from minimum of 12yr to 25yr max. A 25 year McCallan and a 30 year Laphroaig were the best I ever grabbed, and they were both around $400 for a 750mL bottle. Walker blue label is good blended scotch, @ around $200 the last time I bought it at Costco.
At the bar it was usually Bourbon (listed above), Glenlivet 12, or Jameson.
This was a good derailing.![]()
Loved Old Forester, highly overlooked. How a political thread discussion devolves to a bourbon discussion.
I think the Dems desperately need some strategists to provide guidance on messaging and actually unifying behind key initiatives. The current "people will vote for our platform because they are smart" approach clearly doesn't work like it should.
Blanton's is overpriced crap. Almost any hand picked bourbon off the shelf at $80 is infinitely better.
Some of my standards that are easy to get:
Old Forester 1910 -$60.
Smooth Ambler Old Scout - $60 -$80 for 5-8 year.
Evan Williams Bottled in Bond -$25 - hands down the best bang for the buck. Great sipper with some ice and makes great mixed drinks.
Eagle Rare snd Wellers are definite buy if you find them at shelf price.
Ohman… that whole Knob Creek aged line is fire!! My bourbon drinking bro got me this$130 bottle last year for my birthday:Knob Creek 9 year?

The bar I used to hang out at was on the Rip Van Winkle mailing list. Still, ridiculous amount of money to spend on a bad habit. Reminds me of all the Scotch distilleries I visited and they always had this incredible 25 year plus liter bottle in a display case for thousands of pounds.I agree that Blantons is over everything… over hyped & overpriced but not crappy. Eagle Rare is delicious and Wellers is awesome. There’s a bottle of their Special Reserve hiding in the back row of my hutch.![]()

Dems need an Obama in Congress with the wit of Chris Rock willing to mix it up.
