I don't happen to have her student transcripts from 15 years ago handy, but I'm sure if she were lying about it either Emory, or her current place of employment, or the peers who review her articles, would have found out by now.Originally posted by: fitzov

Most mensans consider themselves Libertarian.
There are many many many successful business people who vote democratic. I've hung out with quite a few. Idiot. Most successful business people are Republican.
Not all college professors are democrats. Academic funding comes not only from tax money, but also from student tuition and the interest from endowments collected with PRIVATE SECTOR donations. Most college professors who live off of government handouts vote Democrat.
So, does that mean Haliburton employees and shareholders vote democratic? Republican legislators don't stop government hand outs, they just redirect the hand outs to large donors.Actually any individual who lives off of government handouts votes Democrat.
That list is obviously bullsh!t, but compare that with the America's Health: State Health Rankings and otherstatistics related to wealth, education, and public health, and the blue states come off much rosier. Who the fvck wants to live in south carolina?Someone sent me this link and it ticked me off. Please note that if Baltimore didn't exist Bush would have won Maryland easily.

Ehhhh... I'd have to say, I'd have faith in in the good will of man before the good will of corporate interests...
Corporations ARE men. WTF do you think they are? Aliens?
BTW, the more governemnt seeks to control any group of people, the more that group of people will seek to control government.
This is why there is a total separation of church and state. Do the same thing for business and business will no longer have the need, will, or ability to control government.
Do you realize that Child Labor laws, Safe working conditions, and minimum wages have to be LEGISLATED? I'm not saying that I'm all for big gov't, but I'm sure not any more comfortable with big corporations.
Do you realize that none of those laws are why business is trying to influence government? Do you realize how many regulations there are on businesses?
Hmmm from your posts you seem to be more scared of Socialism than Fasicsm. We might just differ on which is most likely to bring our country to it's knees.

Yes, of course that chart is bogus -- you actually thought it was real? And don't confuse IQ with education -- they don't go hand in hand.
While I can't cite any phony graphs, I can say it's been my experience that the OP is correct. People in poverty and of little education often vote Democratic, as they are promised handouts from that party's leaders. Conversely, people who own companies, or have a substantial amount of money they've earned through daily work vote Republican to receive the tax breaks.
That isn't to say if you vote Republican you're necessarily smarter, or vice versa. Simply, the two parties offer different incentives to different groups of people to try to get their vote. No party is "better" than the other; they just have different priorities and agendas. Who you side with is based on your limited perceptions and needs -- nothing more.
Argh. I know I'm being trolled...
Democrats: Formerly the party of labor, teachers, and unions. Now hookwinked and 90% under corporate control.
Republicans: Party of management, wealth, and "Christian Right". 110% corporate controlled.
Independants: Idealist hoping that we can revive this country before we go the way of Rome.
sorry for the spelling... Typing fast before this is locked!![]()
I see Democrats as the party of socialism and nanny-state fascism. These two ideals rob me of more rights and freedoms than any republican ideal. As such I see them as the greatest real world threat to our individual liberty.
As far as the Christian Right goes, I see a lot of pandering, and very little if any progress on the national level. In fact, our society is becoming more socially permissive, not less. If anything, all the RR does is slow that trend a bit... but it's done nothing to reverse it long term.
BTW, I'm a libertarian.
