Do you as a Liberal/Democratic/Progressive/Moderate see the Democratic party as Washington insiders who have lost touch with you and I average Joe American?

If Washington is anything like Ottawa, you don't remain an insider for long without power.

Ottawa is mostly run by francophone canadians. Most of the anglophone ones were moving west. You can't get a government job in Ottawa without speaking perfect French. You can get one though if you speak perfect french and really crappy english. I could hardly understand anyone who worked in government in Ottawa.

Very insightful. Thanks.

In Washington, you can be a faux insider and have all of the accoutrements of being an insider because Washington is so huge. Hangers on stay around to keep track of what the other side is doing. Ottawa is really a small capital in comparison and the dynamic is very different. The only group that I actually saw depart were the Chinese money managers just after Gore lost the election. They left in droves.
