Democrat Rules For Thee But Not For Mee Case#32593 - DC Mayor Bowser

Literally hours after imposing a new mask mandate - Mayor Bowser of DC decided that with her new rules in place - it was perfectly acceptable to officiate a wedding without a mask. Apparently she (and a CNN reporter that was at the wedding) obliged to say that the wedding was outside, so no big deal. OH thank god a CNN invited guest is there - I'm sure that is media that can be trusted!

....Except that she decided to not mention that there was a reception that was inside, where it was clearly seen with no masks, and without social distancing. What a lovely hypocrite.

Now personally - I don't give a flying shit, mostly because mask mandates are absolutely the definition of insanity at this point - it defies all logic, reasoning, and science. By that regard, everyone should be wearing a mask for Influenza at all times.

Democrats: This is why you lose elections. Do you think your general population likes mask mandates? Do you think they like seeing their representatives not obeying the VERY RULES that their own leaders put into place? This is why 2022 and 2024 will be gloriously won by Republicans, even after someone like Trump tarnishes the image. How do you manage to fuck things up this bad? No matter how much you keep saying it's not a big deal - voters see otherwise.

Perhaps most hilariously, our shithole media outlets that thought it to be at all useful to let us know this fact:

OH - You mean that the person who reported on this wasn't OFFICIALLY INVITED to the wedding?! OH NO! God forbid someone report on something without being invited lol. Our media sincerely can't be this stupid to actually write something like this, right?

WaPo even gave it 4 Pinocchio's.

Maybe she has all her shots.....
Maybe she thought she was a Republican for a moment?
Maybe this pales in comparison to the Republican lead anti-vax movement?
Maybe....

Hey stupid, that picture is outside. Where is the so called picture of her inside maskless absent eating or drinking??

You and the WE are both liars

A photo of her outdoors? Not cutting it. Did she just officiate and leave? Many officiants don't attend the receptions.

Also you'd have to see if DC instituted indoor dining and event restrictions that she violated indoors. In case you haven't noticed, and you are this dumb and dishonest, there have been many points during this pandemic that masks were mandated indoors but indoor dining and events were allowed

Oh, you have actual scientific evidence on the ineffectiveness of masks, do you? Or is it just your deranged implementation of "common sense" and "it just stands to reason"?

Boston Mayor screwed herself last night by saying Vaccine passports or mandatory vaccination would be bad for black people because of experiments and stuff.

DC mayor made a big mistake here. WaPo fact checked the mayor's response to the allegation and gave it 4 pinnocios. There's a video.

It isn't that hard to wear a mask after you just mandated it. Democrats have to be smarter than this.
Was dinner still being served? Can't see and that would be a reason not to have it on.

You are right if you enact a mandate follow it. As I've heard all time, need more evidence.

It is bad for black people lol. If NYC actually tries to move forward with their shit, it will disproportionately effect black people.

According to WaPo and the video, she ate a meal, then continued not wearing her mask after the meal was over. Also, lots of other guests and some servers were not masked. She should not have even attended that reception after seeing all the unmasked people there. Should have left after the outdoor ceremony.

On Aug. 2, Lowe posted a 25-second video she took of the reception. The video (below) shows Bowser seating at a table without a mask — even though at least one of the people at her table is wearing a mask. The audience is watching someone speaking, apparently as part of a toast. Servers, some in masks, are clearing a few remaining plates. Many people in the audience are not wearing masks.

In other words, Bowser is not “actively eating or drinking,” as the mandate requires. So, defending herself before the media, on Tuesday, Bowser subtly rewrote her own rules, suggesting that as long as you are at a dining table, being maskless is okay: “We all know what the rules says about sitting at a dining table and dining.”

Yeah, read about that one too. What a stupid thing to say, comparing a vaccine passport to slavery. She sounds like MTG. If she opposes vaccine passports, fine, but don't sound like a moron when doing so.

But ... you do. You made a fucking thread about it, that is as long as a novel, with multiple links in it.

Democrats: This is why you lose elections.

Ummm ... last I checked, Joe Biden was a democrat who won with historical numbers.

And Trump didn't even win the popular vote in 2016, with every other country in the world scratching their heads wondering how the person with the most votes did not win the presidency.

I guess it depends if you think preparing for a toast is "actively drinking" or not.

If you are sitting at a dining table, I see no reason to have to wear a mask. If you are going to use a restroom, then there is at least some reason to put one on. That's how we did it in NYC when indoor dining opened up.

Sounds like she screwed up and is not taking accountability for it. Not cool.

To the OP: why do you think this is representative of the Democratic party and not of mayor Bowser individually?

Has DC banned all indoor dining or all indoor events that include dining? I have not seen a news article on this yet

Because probably 20+ have been mentioned throughout the pandemic that represent the biggest names in the Democratic party in the biggest cities/states ?

Pelosi hairdresser, Newsom at the restaurant, Austin mayor in vacation home telling others not to travel - just the ones that stand out to me - plenty of others throughout the pandemic.
