The cure for conservatism is piece of mind. The fear of piece of mind is anxiety that if you relax you will be killed because that is what happened to us when we were happy children. Thought is fear and that is why spiritual disciplines offer meditation as the practice of gently returning to an inner silent state. I personally think it's faster to feel what you fear, relive one's psychic death, and thereby acquire self awareness of how you came to be. We fear what is in the dark and lose it with familiarity. What we need is a world full of wisdom and folk who know the way. But our ignorance means we do not know what we need.
