Question 1: Do you believe that all people should be allowed to have representation in matters which affect them (either by representation, direct referendum or another method you suggest)?

Question 2: Do you believe you should be allowed to vote on other countries foreign policy, or members of the public in another country should be allowed to vote on yours.

Question 3: Do you see an issue with answering 1)yes 2)no OR 1)no 2)yes if one countries foreign policy affects citizens in another?

1: Not necessarily.

2: NOPE.

3: Sounds like some sort of global socialist agenda. I'll pass.

Most of us here are "Muricans." When we want to influence another country's politics, we do it the old fashioned way...with guns and bombs.

Yes, Yes, No.

1- Laws which affect the people should be voted on by the people.

2- As a yes or no question, absolutely yes. If Mexico, for some insane reason, decided to come up with a policy to kill American citizens or throw trash into our nation over the border or poison our air, I'd certainly want to be able to vote to step in and straighten them out. In general, in most cases I'd suggest staying out of the policies of other countries, but the idea that we should stay completely out of other nation's policies in all cases is absurd and idiotic.

3- I don't have an issue with people answering the questions wrong, simply because I know most people are stupid and it's not worth getting worked up when stupid people have dumb ideas.

I think you've spent too much time flying around wind farms.

You said absolutely yes. That is the definition of batshit crazy. I looked it up.

So basically what OP is asking is "should the countries America screws over get a say in America?"

And the obvious answer is no. You want to affect American politics? The do it via donations to the candidate of your choice through laundered prepaid Visas, as is the American way.

I qualified my answer. You are being dishonest by implying I did not.

"If Mexico, for some insane reason, decided to come up with a policy to kill American citizens or throw trash into our nation over the border or poison our air"

So if Mexico did those things, your position is that we shouldn't do anything about it, because we shouldn't mess with a foreign countries citizens?

LOL.

Of course we should do something about it, but not VOTING.

We should threaten trade restrictions that will destroy their economy if they won't stop. And if they have too much pride to accept then we need to fly drones over their nation and randomly bomb offending installations (like garbage trucks heading towards the border) until they stop.

Just like in America, voting is useless in foreign policy.

Who gets to decide when and how to implement those restrictions?

Hint: it's congress.

How do you think congress makes decisions?

Hint: they vote.

Lawfully elected president by the majority via vote, he represents the majority. Still counts as voting even if it's not direct voting.

You were saying that citizens of another country should have a vote in the other countries foreign policy decisions. You've been taking Obama lessons when you claim differently.

Well yes, that is how a democracy works.

There are two different questions here, and you seem to be confusing them.

1- If another country is doing fucked up shit to us, should we do something about it?

My answer is an unequivocal yes.

2- How do we determine what we are going to do about it?

Given that we are supposedly under a democracy still, this should be determined by vote, either directly or indirectly through elected representatives.

If you disagree with point 1, I guess you are just a worthless shell of a human devoid of any will to protect yourself from wrongdoing.

If you disagree with point 2, do you believe that we are not actually a democracy? Do you think the country would run better as a dictatorship? Why do you think one person could make the decision better than a group of lawfully elected persons?
