I had fun with it for a couple of weeks, but the network issues were horrible and balance was off. I wonder how it as after all the patching they promised?

i enjoyed the game quite a bit and put a fair amount of time into. my friends and i never had any connectivity issues amongst ourselves. playing with others usually resulted in atleast 1 high ping bastard or a rage quitter. my issue with the game was the lack of working persistent stats. for a while favor wouldnt accumulate. then it worked for a bit but then reset it with a big patch. since that patch, i never received my favor points so i could never unlock anything so i gave up. ive gone back and played a couple times since just for a change of pace and one game gave me my points and the other gypped me. game had potential.

Yea, I'm kind of curious how patched it is too. I bought it for 50% after the first round of patches, and had fun initially. After encountering more and more people abusing the stats system (leaving if they're the host so the game won't count) and the random team matchmaker (bringing arranged teams into it), I left and haven't really looked back.

The first time you play a 40 minute game only to realize at the end that the other 5 players dropped in the first few minutes (or you desynched and dropped from THEM) and you've been playing with AI, it will probably frustrate you enough to never play again.

Not only will that probably happen during your first game, but it's damn annoying to wonder why the fuck your temmmates aren't communicating.

Demigod's a fun game. With Queen of Thorns being the exception, the demigods are pretty well balanced on Cataract, which is the map everyone plays anyway.
Host disconnect bug is still there, but if you pass by the hosts with >70% win rate you'll pass by most of those.

Banded armor/unbreakable boots/nimoth/narmoth

Not the perfect item combo for every demigod, but it'll get the job done.

The game is more or less dead, and I say that as someone with 400+ MP games under my belt. The game is real tight at its best, but has become stale. GPG has pretty much washed its hands of the game so it will not be getting any major updates (or any at all) at this point. There is no SP to speak of and the MP community shrinks daily. Those left are usually at the skill level where a new player would not be able to play (would be kicked from the lobby). I ended up quitting because despite having a respectable record with my best Demigods, I couldn't play any of the others without making my teammates go berserk. There is no room for casual or fun play, so if you don't choose your best character and play with maximum intensity, you're going to be a rage target.

I actually installed it recently, and yea there's almost noone playing. Sigh, if the game wasn't so buggy for so long, it might have gotten a decent community rolling. The couple of times I checked there'd be noone in pantheon even waiting 5-10 minutes and there'd be like 2 open custom games one from germany and the other a premade looking to roflstomp a random team.

I've played and like Demigod. Online is pretty much BS these days, with most people being too good for you or rage quitters. However, the game REALLY shines in a LAN. me and my friends play it every month or so together, and have a blast doing it. The 75% off coupon is good for that alone.

To those comparing it to HoN / LoL: I've played both games, and don't even consider them in the same genre. Demigod is more of an action game.

I the only thing I enjoy more than pointing out the obvious ridiculousness of someone who hasn't even tried something deciding it's terrible is making anyone who legitimately thinks "rape" is an acceptable usage in a measurement of skill cry more at being outright obliterated.
