What human being in the history of man, has ever had a real "health problem" from nitrous oxide? I call bullshit. Suffocation risk aside (and you gotta be a realllll fucking winner to asphyxiate while on whippits), there is nothing whatsoever that prevents you from breathing high doses for hours and hours on end, then after a few more minutes returning to normal. I don't think there is a correlation between a hospital visit and (ab)use of nitrous oxide.
