Dementions 4600 not detecting sata drive

I cant get this machine to boot. I tried different hard drives, sata cables and ports. Tried disabling/ enabling sata ports in bios and tried replacing the battery with complete bios reset. Hard drive spins up so there is power. Still get the same error:SATA Primary Drive 0 Not Found. Bios version is A08. Any ideas? Bad sata controller?

Do you have the Bios set to sata 1 or just auto

When you boot to bios can you see HDD listed???

no the hdd is not listed. The sata is set to auto which is the only setting along with off.
