Wow this attitude could set equal rights back by decades. I bet the feminists are pissed that she is framing the state of womanhood as needing to prostitute themselves to men because they are less capable of providing for themselves than men are.

It's funny because you would have to be as dumb as those two characters to not understand that her logic is perfectly sound.

No, her logic is perfectly idiotic, unless you're a social justice warrior who doesn't care about reality, just some distorted view of reality through the lens of political correctness.

"integrate a gender approach in all policies that are related to climate change". Really? I think she just defined a new level of stupidity.

...except you're missing a whooooole lotta' steps in between:

X) climate change = less food
and
Y) women will have to resort to prostitution

Are you prepared to have the unpleasant discussion of the hows and whys of what exists between X and Y?

I can already hear the peanut gallery sucking in air to scream "MISOGYNY!!!" instead of having a sensible, controlled discussion that will affect everyone's well-being for the future.

This isn't about your anti-SJW crusade, she is talking about the realities of living in third-world conditions.

Women are equal!

But they need extra protection because they're not equal.

LOL, "liberals."

So that would be a big, fat, "NO".
No, she will NOT have a real discussion on why this may be a reality and what to do about it.

Big surprise.

Good point. Cognitive dissonance be damned!

By that notion, Climate Change will lead to nuclear war.
Don't get ahead of yourself regarding the agenda for emotional pleas and fear mongering related to climate change...nuclear war FUD is scheduled for next month's climate change media cycle.

Usually conservatives on this board will acknowledge when a crazy Republican pulls an akin. Typically they'll point out another crazy Liberal in defense. A lazy move, but at least they don't lend credence to said crazy person.

Liberals ITT skipped the false equivalence and are actually going to bat for this weasel. That takes a lot of fucking nerve.

The explanation was already outlined in post 14. Yes, it isn't a compelling argument, probably isn't even worth discussing, but the logic is sound.

I guess if you think prostitution is the same as suicide/genocide. I mean, it's already been postulated that CC contributed to the unrest in Syria so that would mean it increases the likelihood of war, but escalating to nuclear war is a whole different animal.

Why is it "sound"? Because you like that it supports the perpetual-victim narrative?

Because it doesn't require you to DO anything?

Because it again paints men as the cause of all bad things, and the answer is to take more from them?

Sure beats rolling up your sleeves and working. Rosie the Riveter would be so disappointed.

Oh Joy! It's Conservative Brain Defective Day. The perfect storm is here. A Black Democrat woman has taken on the issue of climate change and the potential effects on woman's social issues in the House of raging primitives... Fapping records are falling like flies in conservative circle jerks everywhere. You poor fucking clowns are amazing.

Because lack of food and poverty conditions lead to more prostitution. Do you not agree with this simple concept? Are you still unaware that the discussion is about third world conditions and not Murrica?

THAT concept, sure. No problem.

Are you still unaware that the discussion is about third world conditions and not Murrica?

Third world already has food problems. So if you want to talk about worsening conditions, you must talk about the first world.

So, what are women to collectively do when food and work becomes short here? What will you do when the only choices are:

a) hard labour in food production
b) prostitution for food
c) steal food (etc) from those who have it.

Yes, people can be equal in ability, and yet need extra protection because they aren't treated equally under the law.

I'd give an example, but I won't treat you as the idiot that you pretend to be. I'm sure you can come up with an example for yourself.

Third world already has food problems.
And CC can make it even worse.

So if you want to talk about worsening conditions, you must talk about the first world.
Sure, let's switch the discussion from the actual topic to a completely different topic so you can "win."

So if say, water, became increasingly scarce you think hard labor could overcome that? :whiste:

Except I'm not. (So sorry!) The short article does NOT specify third-world only, only that 3 billion poor people will become even poorer. You think climate change will only affect China and India?

She's only stating a "duhhh" obvious point - that when she has no other choice, she'll prostitute herself. (As observed in all the rest of human history.)

So if say, water, became increasingly scarce you think hard labor could overcome that? :whiste:

Nice distraction attempt. If all labour turns to food production or polluted water purification, you'll still have the same choice. Work, or take/trade the benefits of that labour from others. The easiest route is a few minutes of bad sex and acting for a few hours of labour "fruits" -- and many women will choose that icky route rather than suffer.

There will be very few ivory towers to shuffle papers and compare outfits in.

The point she was making was too complex for the righty brain. Perhaps if she brought in a snow ball and threw it at the head of a republican, the point might have been clearer.

From the short article:
Lee’s House Concurrent Resolution 29 says that food and water scarcity will be exacerbated by the effects of climate change, forcing increased “conflict and instability” that will particularly affect the strain on women farmers “who are estimated to produce 60 to 80 percent of the food in most developing countries.”

...

The resolution calls attention to ways that women are vulnerable to climate change, specifically in poor and developing countries. It states that it will become more difficult for women to grow and collect food and water for their families and natural disasters driven by climate change will push many women and children into becoming refugees.

Distraction? From the short article:

Yeah, third world countries just don't work hard enough at water purification.

TRIGGER WARNING: Here comes a "But what about teh menz???" moment

For a group of people who is hell bent on equality, these people sure love structuring everything in gender-sensitive frameworks, or whatever other unequal bullshit they can muster.

"Global warming will affect teh wimmenz!!!"

Yeah? And? Are men exempt from climate? Hell, men don't really have the option to prostitute themselves, if they can't farm they'll just die. I guess that isn't a problem, because patriarchy.

There's a whole generation of college educated gender studies students who have gone completely off the deep end. The nonstop bullshit spewed by these SJW nutjobs almost makes Republicans look sane.

Oh oh, here comes the poor white male and his victimhood. Oh why oh why can't people think about the poor white male? They are an endangered species for Christs sake! All that's left of them have had to resort to working in congress.

Poor, poor, whitey!

The poster above me is a fucking moron;)
