Host Chris Matthews had asked the Florida congressman about Cheney's comments on Fox News Tuesday, in which the former VP called Obama a "radical" and said the president's decision to bring accused 9/11 plotters to Manhattan to face trial was "a huge mistake."

"On the Internet there's an acronym that's used to apply to situations like this. It's called 'STFU,'" Grayson told Matthews. "I don't think I can say that on the air, but I think you know what that means."

"I remember [President George W. Bush] kissing [Saudi Crown] Prince Abdullah on the cheek, and then holding his hand for an extended period of time," Grayson said. "Maybe if he'd let him get to second base, then gasoline would be a dollar a gallon."

owned

And GOPs response?

"The foul mouthed man-child from Orlando is at it again, taking to the airwaves to bring shame to struggling Central Florida families who want jobs, not nut-jobs. But speaking of bases, Alan Grayson's constituents surely find themselves wishing his parents had never gotten past first."

Better then a P&N flame war wewt!

No way is that the GOP response, really? To say Grayson is a man-child (undeniable and pretty sad too btw, dude is just annoying) only to respond with, uh, man-child insults like wishing Grayson's parents hadn't gotten past first base?

Pretty entertaining though.

I find it funny that we resist bringing terrorists to be tried on American soil when we housed German POWs on the mainland, right in NYC in fact. Hell, we treated those German POWs better than we treated our own black servicemen.

When did America become so cowardly?

Also, Grayson pretty much owned Cheney with that remark. Sometimes, if you want to teach a pig a lesson, you got to go down to the pig's level.

Grayson dreams of some day rising to a pig's level.

Perhaps you noticed that those German POWs were detained until we won the war. They were not Mirandized, they were not given trials, they did not pass Go, they did not collect $200. They were simply held until the war had been won.

Grayson has simply found out the same thing that retards like Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin have. If you say stupid things, you get attention.

Note to the GOP though, if you call someone a man-child it's probably best not to follow it up with a 'but you're a poopypants' insult.

They were PoWs awaiting a trial for war crimes. The war was over in Europe when they were taken prisoner (45). The trials were held in 45-46 So yeah, fail.

Thats about as speedy a trial as you get nowadays even as a citizen.

I'm thinking that politicians in general are selected only if they answer "Yes" to the "Were you ever diagnosed with Shaken Baby Syndrome?"

Yes, certain POWs who were identified as having committed war crimes were put on trial, a vanishingly small percentage of the whole. However if found not guilty they were still held because they were hostile soldiers, not civilian criminals.

err, they were detained on US soil and then deported back to Germany. It's not quite analogous to what is being done now. Plus, there was the U-boat trial, in which the crew of a U-boat was tried and convicted and put to death, all on American soil.

If we can do that to Nazis, why can't we do it to 9-11 terrorists?

Who are you talking about? Common soldiers of the wermacht POWs? Most were held and exchanged for Allied POWs then sent home to their ruined lands.

More of an hold for exchange then a incarceration and NOTHING even remotely close to the time frame of gitmo. Not even close.

Of course, they weren't tortured extensively either, but treated fairly, and were released when Germany surrendered. So you can't compare them, but you know that already, and are just trolling anyway, right?

So tell me, when will this so-called "war on terror" end? Never, so you can feel good about locking up and torturing people for the rest of their job? You want to hold them until the war ends, but then you can't define what the war is, let alone when it could end. Bingo! Instant lifetime imprisonment without trial. Well done.

I love this guy for getting down in the gutter with the Republicans. Democrats have been getting killed in elections for years by letting Republicans define them. This guy is one of the few who will fight them on their terms. Hilarious.

$1.00 Gas would have collapsed the entire economy of the world.

I am pretty sure GITMO is American soil.
Using your definition of "American soil" I guess we should stop all trials in Alaska and Hawaii.

It's always a mistake to bring defendants to trial when you can't make a case against them... When the methods used to obtain evidence have tainted it, rendered it inadmissible. That's why Cheney thinks it's a mistake.

Terribly embarrassing for him and the former Admin in general.

Which, of course, is as it should be. Freedom can't be defended with the tools of tyranny- it's a complete oxymoron, and a sad commentary on the mental prowess of wingnuts in general.

U-boat trial, Omar? Whatever in the world are you talking about?

Like it or not, the WoT can never be won, anyway, because it's a war on the boogeyman, on a trumped up threat used to exploit our nation...

Oh, please, Patranus. You're using the "deliberately obtuse" method of denial. The events of the tragic day you mention were made even more tragic through exploitation by our leaders at the time. It was the greatest political windfall since Pearl Harbor, and they practically beat the skins off of that drum in their haste to "link" those events to the Iraqi regime, to the Iranians, to anybody else they didn't like, and to convince America that the so-called "threat" was much bigger than we ever imagined... That's why they created the detention facility at Gitmo, to break the so-called "worst of the worst" into spilling their guts... nevermind that the majority of those held have been released, and that the majority of those remaining are eligible for release. The whole thing was basically a lie, a way to convince America that the Bush Admin was "Tough on Terrar!" unlike the terrarist coddling Libruhls...

And it worked. Repubs won the midterms, controlled the Legislative and Executive branches, which they used to do what? Enrich America's richest even more, and to distract us from the source of the radical Islam that spawned the 9/11 attacks, that source being the feudal kingdom of Saudi Arabia, their pals. The royal family rules by divine right, uses their religious police to maintain their grip on the oil revenue, keep their populace backward and ignorant, a perfect breeding ground for terrorists. Or have you forgotten how many of the 9/11 attackers were Saudi citizens? How many of the radical Pakistani madrassas are funded with Saudi money? Or that Wahhabi teachings are the wellspring and the fountainhead for ongoing terrorism around the world?

You've been hornswaggled, manipulated, lied to and cheated, but you still believe... It's pathetic.

The terrorist threat? You have a better chance of being struck by lightning. If we really wanted to address it, we'd do so at the source, not at the end of the line, not by locking up young religious zealots who might be the only people on Earth more brainwashed than the American rightwing.
