i've got a delta fan mounted on a global win wbk38, and it is way too loud. however, the way the fan is clipped to the side of the heatsink instead of screwed in, i don't think i can use the silcone caulking method for reducing the noise, is there any other way?

what silicone caulking method to quiet down the noise? wouldnt whatever it is effect the fan output tho? I am getting two of these for my case and if they are a lot quieter i might put one on my cpu because 31cfm @28dBA is sounding pretty good compared to the deltas

Use an acoustical foam, or plain cork, on the sides of the interior walls of the case to dampen the noise...

I don't think anything but lowering the voltage will kill the sound of the beast.

vibration isnt what causes this noise, this is the air flowing, u can dampen vibrations by putting your finger against the fan casing, if it sounds different then, u can use that method to quiet it up, but if the screws are tight most people fans dont vibrate against anything.

if anyone here has bought a delta, and is sick of it, i'll gladly buy it from you(i only need one)...i got one in from the dilivery man today, slaped that sucker on my athlon, and it works better! and it is NOT too loud, so if any of you got tired of the "noise" and would like to sell one to me, PM me (in SJ, CA is best if possible)
