Is this (the no-stamp part) something new? You don't need to send in your receipt and UPC code?

Why don't I ever recieve any emails when my stuff is out of stock? Does this mean my account is on the bad list at staples.com? I've made several orders without problem - it is just when the hot deals go out of stock I never get an email!

Staples system is really screwed up. About 50% of the time I don't get any confirmation email at all, the item just shows up. If an item is cancelled(about 50% of the time) I never know until I call to check on the order. Staples has some great deals, but they are pretty clueless.....

And (almost as if by design), guess what? That coupon you just used is now locked because you've used it.

I know you can always call and tell to let you re-use it, but it seems the system should check stock before it lets you order the bloody thing.

They must not have thought of having hordes of shoppers coming when hot deals are posted at sites like this... Either that or they didn't do a good job designing the stock system. It is supposed to let you know before you order that it is out of stock but....

I got mine today! Along with a big package (1000 count) perforated computer paper. I hope they'll exchange that - they had a really bad description up on the website for it.

Does anyone know who makes/made this drive? Can we flash it with their firmware? CDRWin detects it at max read (for both functions) 12x...

I did the 50x($40) with $20 rebate and a v-tech phone($40) with $20 rebate and used the 25 off 75 (that was actually in my inbox from Staples). I think that's the first time I've actually used a coupon that was sent to me!

Bottom line is about $15 after rebates for a 50x and a 900mhz phone!

GodsAnnoyance: I don't think the CD-ROM is junk - it is just that CDRWin doesn't recognize it and thus goes straight to 12x. At least I think that is how it works. I didn't actually test reading off the CD-ROM or anything like that...

This looks like a nice drive and it sounds like Delta just puts there name on other peoples stuff. In Win98 SE it appears as a &quot; ATAPI 50X CDROM&quot; (yes, with the leading space) - for comparision my new Sony burner shows up as &quot;SONY CD-RW CRX160E&quot;. The firmware revision of the Delta drive is 1.3.
