Delta Fan Question

I just bought a heatsink (SK-6) with a Delta 60mm 38 CFM. I read on some websites that warns users about not connecting the fan power directly onto the motherboard, which would cause the motherboard to dysfunction. What these websites suggested was to buy a 3-4 pin adapter instead. I was wondering if this is true and are there any other precautions that I should take before installing the fan. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

Yes it is true.
The Delta uses close to 4 watts of power.
If your motherboard fan header is not rated
for this power level you will burn out the
connection on the motherboard.

You might email your motherboard support site
to find this info out like I did for my
EPOX.

To play it safe use an 4 pin adapter till you
find out. There only a couple of bucks if you don't have one.
