If there is a contract that is one fucked up thing Delta did.
Sorry if repost

The soldiers may have been misinformed about the contract as it relates to traveling active duty military personnel.
Active military personnel flying in coach on travel orders are only allowed to check three bags free of charge, Delta said on its website. Active military traveling in first or business class may check up to four bags for free.
You would think the agent would break the rules and just let them check 4 bags anyway.
There could be software limits that required the policy be enforced.
I can guarantee Delta won't let this happen again.
It's such bad press~ why would they differentiate like that between business/first class vs economy for the soliders.
how many soldiers will actually fly business/first class ?
Probably oversized and overweight. Why are they charging $200 per bag. I thought it was more on the order of $20-50 per bag.
One step closer to privatizing our military.I've always found it funny that we send our troops to war in commercial airliners.
I guess it makes financial sense, but still, it just seems funny. Do we also fed-ex our munitions over?

faster, cheaper, and more comfortable than sending them home in a c130 :d

So you think the military should keep regular scheduled flights to everywhere in the world? Interesting.....
If there is a military flight, they are supposed to take that, otherwise commercial airlines it is.
As for the bags, my mom worked for continental. I can't speak for Delta's system but my mom regularly broke the rules in cases like this. It is called customer service.
