How would one achieve that? I have one but couln't bear the noise, Bought sanyo denki for my fop38. Now I have the spare delta, naturally I want to use it. Is it at all possible to "clock" it down, maybe give less voltage?
Suggestions?
I just slowed my FOP-32 fan by feeding it 7 volts instead of 12.
What I did was to connect the red wire (positive) to the yellow wire (+12v) from a HD power connector, and the black wire (ground) to the red wire (+5v) from a HD power connector.
HD power connector - Fan wires
Yellow ---------- Red
Black
Black
Red ------------- Black
You wont be able to get the fan speed readout, but the fan is a definetely more quiet now 🙂
yeah I bought one too. it dropped my temps 2C. but after about
30 minutes I couldn't stand it anymore. I could hear it downstairs
and my puter is upstairs! it took it off and put my other fan
back on.
Will strangle that noisy littl' thing. Such a shame not using it, will have it suck in air straight on the cpu-hsf.
The help is much appreciated...I say
a rheostat is a type of capacitor that lowers the voltage to the device it is connected to. like a dimmmer for lights. it slwos the Fan down by lowering the voltage.
How many places do you need to post this ???? This is the third exact same post - PLEASE don't DO that.
Check one of them, I replied about the baybuses I make, this may be able to solve your problem.
Same here.. I prefer my cheap but mildly quiet Sunon.. screw the Delta I just couldn't stand it and no one likes a vacuum cleaner right next to them all the time.. that thing was making me deaf..
