Delta 300W PSU

$17.99
+ 7.88 Shipping
----------
$25.87

AMD approved for Athlon 2100+ (higher speed Athlons' approved list is not posted yet).

3.3V-26A
5.0V-32A
12V-13.5A
-5V-0.5A
-12V-0.8A
5Vsb-2.0A

- Includes an ATX Aux Power Connector -
(AKA Extended ATX), and ATX 12V Connector
* Note: +3.3 & +5.0v Max output is 245Watt
- 6 Connectors for peripherals - (5.25 inch type)
- 2 Connector for peripheral - (3.5 inch type)

Delta Power Supplies are, IMHO, some of the best for any price... I have built several systems around 240W Deltas, systems that wouldn't even POST with a 300W Antec or Sparkle. Delta seems to rate their power supply wattage pretty conservatively. Past Deltas I've had use speed-controlled Panaflow H1A fans, that run pretty slow/quiet at normal operating temps, though not completely silent. Unfortunately the exact model number of these isn't listed, but you can see probable specs here.

The only drawback I can see to these is that they don't appear to have the air inlet on the underside, right above the processor.

Thanks very much,

This still looks like a nice, bugdet, PS. Especially for one of the Outpost ECS - Duron combo's. I just ordered one/:)

Anyone know how this PS compares to the Enhanced model that comes with the Evercase at newegg? I am wondering if I should get this PS and an evercase w/o a PS or just get the evercase with the enhanced ps.

Enhance power supply is not as good, has combined 3/5V rating of only 175W. Delta's combined is listed as 245W at Package2You, or possibly only the 220W as listed on other similar Delta supplies spec sheets.

<< P4 compatability? >>

It is P4 compatible. Delta has been one of Intel's primary suppliers for workstation and server power supplies for some time now.

Directron appears to be selling the same power supply for $30, and so they have a nice high-res pic, though not a good shot of the label, here. 12V connector is partially hidden.

Mine shipped out USPS, was emailed "tracking number" same day it was ordered.

One afterthought... I'm not sure how long the mobo power leads are, so if you have a funky motherboard with it's power connector under the processor, can't say if this supply will work for you. My smaller 240W Deltas have 9" mobo leads, but it wouldn't surprise me if the larger supplies have longer leads. 9" is enough for *most* motherboards. Will post more info when mine arrives.

Thanks, mindless1.

Just ordered one along with a Mitsumi FDD for a delivered price of $35.66. Only 30 are left, and I'm kinda doubtful about more being available; I see similar closeout merchandise as CompGeeks.

I meant, this place purchases "distressed" merchandise for resale. Distressed, as in: discontinued, surplussed OEM, etc. Sometimes you'll see a sold-out item come back into their inventory, but more often not.

Just received mine...

It is NOT an ATX12V, no "ATX 12V connector", contrary to Package2You's posted specs! :frown::eek::disgust:

However, it is a good power supply, should be perfect for an Athlon. IMHO, a better value than the generic PSU deals, even at Directron's $30 price, unless of course, you need ATX12V & that missing 12V connector. In fact, there are only a select few AMD Recommended power supplies (at any wattage) that are rated over 230W combined.

It IS rated as 245W combined 3/5V... has the Aux Power Connector, 10" motherboard power leads, Delta ASB0812H fan (PWM temp/speed controlled), oversized components (Nichicon caps, etc.), and does have a voltage-adjustment POT.

Note that the voltage switch on the back is likely set to 230V, adjust according to your location... thought for a second that mine was DOA, then noticed it was set to 230V input.

Received mine also. The Delta model number is DPS-300BB D REV:00. It also has an Acer part number 56.04300.101. I can't find this model on the AMD approved PS list or on the Delta website. When I search the web the only reference I find is at Directron.

BE SURE TO CHECK THE VOLTAGE SETTING. MINE WAS SET TO 230 INSTEAD OF 115.

I just got mine and I plugged it in to my ATX motherboard and nothing happens. I had a working system before and I just swapped the power supply. I also made sure the switch in the back is at 115. Please help!

I had one of these with my palo alto 810 server case. It didnt work at all. It took me months to get a replacement from flextronics, which powered down after about 30 seconds. They are sitting in my basement now..

The one that recieve doesn't work either. I've been trying the entire day, but no luck at all. I guess i have to return it then.

Just tested mine and it did not work. I stuck it in my test system running a PII233 and an older Tekram MB, replacing a Deer 250W. When I hit the power button all of the lights on the front, including the drives, would light up for a second then nothing. No fan noise or even a sound like it was trying to boot. I noticed that there is a straight six wire connector on the PS and I am wondering if this is a proprietary PS like the ones Dell uses since they have one of these special connectors. This could also be why I can't find anything on the web with this model number.

Has anyone gotten one of these PSU to work?

I wish more venders would give db ratings for powersupplies, since they are normally one of the loudest parts for a computer.

The PSU that I received is the same model, same Acer part number. Once I switched it to 115V, it worked. The voltage readings from the motherboard where a little low on the +12V, at 11.68, but that was only a 3% deviation, and after adjusting the voltage POT the system then ran at 11.98V on 12V rail, 5.16V on 5V rail. Before the voltage adjustment, the system did run fine but the PSU was open anyway so it was a good time to tweak the voltage.

They aren't proprietary, the extra "straight six" connector is just an aux connector common on many newer and server-oriented PSU. Delta's primary business is to OEMs, and this being an Acer OEM PSU, would be why there isn't any data available on the web. Delta is one of the biggest PSU manufacturers in the world, and yet none of their PSU have much data available on the web.

I feel bad that other people arent' getting theirs to work, but mine is working great, even when I plugged a TON of stuff into it while adjusting the voltage. I have a few different and older systems here, I'll hook the PSU up to some of them and see if I can find any that won't work with it.

I brought me psu into work and the IT guys tested it on a few machines. It works! He suggested that the reason why it may not work on my machine is because some motherboards needed something else (a switch or pin) to power up the psu. My old psu did have an on/off switch on the back. Anyone know of a case like this?

I purchased 3 of these to build systems for friends and family.
Received it today and tested out all three of them. All three work great!!! for this price, it's hard to pass it up, but also risks are the greatest factor. When reading the previous updates prior to receive my order, I was worried for awhile. But now that I recieved it and tested with good results, I am happy. The interesting thing about these PSU is that they "ALL" have the voltage switch set to 230 instead of 115. But of course thanks to the previous posts, I was able to set it before I test it. My case doesn't have the ON/OFF switch, I just tested by plugging in the main ATX plug into the mobo and just push the atx ON button infront of the case. Anyway, I hope everyone got it or will get it to work!!! :)
