Dell Netbooks have an "Airplane Mode". If you have a cell phone and think it is the same thing, you would be mistaken. It really is Sony's fault though.
A guy I know got the new Dell Netbook and was PO'ed. It was not charging on AC. He just got it. Well, he found out why (before Dell ever called him back). He turned on Airplane Mode while flying down from Canada. Airplane Mode turns off the charging system.
Remember when Qantas and a few others were banning laptops in the cabin because of what Sony had created with metal contaminated LI batteries? That was the answer. Joy.
