so i got a new P991 monitor from them to replace my kds av-195tf that died, they take a week to ship. the bottom right corner of the screen is magenta-shaded, the color's just washed out. this was the same problem as on my kds before it died. i doubt it's interference, i moved it to my roomate's computer with no electrical components nearby (or even wall) and it still had the problem. it's not very noticable now but i'm going to assume it's going to get worse, the same thing happened on my kds. now i've got to call both dell and kds tomm, ugh.

I have a p780 (or the 17" trinitron one)

I think its vastly superior to all 17" monitors i've seen

Even at 75 contrast, its bright as heck! The quality is excellent!

Well thats IMO

Heavy as a b*tch though

I've been a proud owner of a Dell P991 for 1.5 years, one of the best 19" monitors I have ever seen.

My next upgrade will probably be to a 17" LCD when they become more affordable.

you prob need to adjust the landing on the monitor.. it adjusts the magnetic properties of each corner.. and degauss it too.. i dont think it's defective unless it has no adjustments for that.. rtfm

yes, did the degauss, checked out the manuals for anything, adjusted the pedastal, nothing removes the fading. trust me, anything obvious i've looked over, it's not working out. i'm not typing this from AOL or anything here guys.

i don't doubt the line, i know the reputation- i did my homework, there's a reason i picked it up. i just find it frustrating to pull it out of the box and find this happening, bleh.
